I continue with my christmas cards, I want to make 50 this year, and today I show you card 6,7 and 8. I made some very simple cards with my Spellbinders Poisettia die. I bought this die last year, but couldn't cut felt with it until I got the new metal shim, which is really helpful to cut any difficult material. Ich führe heute meine kleine Reihe der Weihnachtskarte fort und zeige euch Karte 6,7 und 8. Dabei habe ich eine sehr einfache Karte gebastelt, die es aber in sich hat: Die Filzblüte wurde mit einer Spellbinders Stanze geschnitten, die ich bereits im vergangenen Jahr gekauft hatte. Meine Idee, damit Filz zu stanzen, musste ich aber begraben, da dicker Filz sich nicht stanzen ließ und der dünne fiel an den Blättern des Weihnachssterns auseinander....
Seit ich meine Metallplatte habe, ist das alles anders. Ich kann dicken Filz, Stoff, Leder und Metall stanzen, wo ich vorher große Probleme hatte. Dünnen Filz stanze ich nach wie vor ohne die Metallplatte, aber alle schwierigen Materialien kommen nun auf meine neue Platte.
Thin felt can be cut without the metal shim, but thin felt is hard to cut with the poinsettia. I tried and failed last year, because the delicate felt kept falling apart. Thicker felt is not easy to cut, because the fibres are so flexible that the die won't cut properly. Since I got that shim, I cut all the materials I always wanted to: Felt, leather, fabric, sturdy metal and plastic. I cannot image my very own way of die cutting without my metal shim.
Ich habe die Blüte einfach aufeinander gelegt, und ein paar Perlen aufgenäht. Um die kleinen Perlen zu verbessern und die Nähfäden zu verstecken, habe ich diese mit einem Perlenpen angemalt, ebenso die kleinen Halbperlen, um den Farbton anzugleichen.
Die grünen Blätter sind mit Filz-Klebefolie (DC-fix) gestanzt und einfach aufgeklebt. Der Text (fairysale) wurde mit rotem Brilliance gestempelt, und setzt sich schön leuchtend von dem dunklen Grundton des Gmund-Papieres ab. Fertig.
I layered and glued the poinsetta. I sewed on some beads and covered them with a pearl pen to hide the thread. I put some of the pearl pen on the small pearl dots too to make everything match.
The green leafes are cut from vellum stickerpaper and glued directly onto the card. The text was stamped with red Brilliance on my Gmund-Paper (german manufacturer). The Brilliance really pops even on that dark surface. Done.
