Draußen regnet es in Strömen. Und Zitronen sind gerade keine in Sicht. Also versuche ich meine Laune mit ein paar Bildern und Erinnerungen aus Barcelona zu heben. Dummerweise ist uns daheim auch das Essen ausgegangen, sodass die ersten Bilder von unserem Frühstück bei Caravelle mich ziemlich hungrig gemacht haben. Es gibt diese besonderen Sonntage...
The rain is pouring. No lemons in sight. So I try to lift my spirits with some pictures and memories of Barcelona. Too bad we run out of food at home 'cause these first photos from our breakfast at Caravelle made me really hungry. There are these special sundays...
Wir haben uns da ziemlich den Bauch vollgeschlagen mit Huevos Rancheros und mit Gruyère überbackenen Eiern. Lediglich der Cold Brew Kaffee war leider nicht so meins. Caravelle ist übrigens unser Geheimtipp für jede Mahlzeit. Und die können (normalerweise) auch Kaffee.
We've filled our bellies with Huevos Rancheros and eggs baked in gruyère cheese. Only the cold brew coffee wasn't exactly my taste. Caravelle is our insider's tipp for every meal. And usually their coffee is really good as well.
Am dritten Tag hatte der Regen endloch aufgehört und wir haben noch einen Abstecher zum Strand gemacht. Wir hatten nicht mehr viel Zeit bevor unser Flug ging, also sind wir nur schnell runter zu Barceloneta. Dort ist es für gewöhnlich sehr voll und es laufen etliche Händler herum, die versuchen überflüssige Dinge zu verkaufen - und die Menschen tun es tatsächlich! Es war trotzdem schön das Meer zu sehen und zu hören während wir eine Weile die Sonne auf unsere Köpfe scheinen ließen.
On the third day the rain stopped pouring and we headed down to the beach. We didn't have much time before our flight so that we ended up at Barceloneta. It's usually really crowded und full of salesmen trying to talk you into buying redundant things - and people do!! But it was still nice to see and hear the ocean and sit in the sun for a little while.
Vor dem kurzen Ausflug zum Strand, haben wir es noch geschafft unser liebstes Museum in Barcelona zu besuchen, das MEAM - Museu Europeu d'Art Modern de Barcelona. Die Bilder und Skulpturen dort sind zum Teil etwas skurril, aber größtenteils sehr inspirierend. Einen weiteren Barcelona Post wird es übrigens noch geben mit dem besten Gebäck, das die Stadt zu bieten hat und den zwei beeindruckendsten Bauwerken, die ich seit Langem gesehen habe - und keins davon ist von Gaudí.
Before we went to the beach we visited our favorite museum in Barcelona, the MEAM - Museu Europeu d'Art Modern de Barcelona. Some of the paintings and sculptures may be a little bit bizzare, but most of the artwork is highly inspiring. There will be another post about Barcelona including the best pastry place in town and two of the most impressive buildings I've seen in a while - and none of them was built by Gaudí.
