Wenn ich schon nicht beim ersten Me Made Mittwoch nach der Sommerpause mitgemacht habe, mach ich wenigstens beim zweiten mit. Bilder sind in Amsterdam entstanden und da mir die Bilder gefallen, besonders das süße alte Kneipenbild, benutz ich einfach die und vom Wetter passt ja total, ich finds wunderbar, dass wir im September wieder ein bisschen Sommer und Sonne genießen können.Das Schnittmuster habe ich aus der Burdastyle 01/2013, also die Januarausgabe mit Silvesterpartykleidern, und genau eins dieser Kleider habe ich abgewandelt, damit es auch für den Sommer passt. Die Ärmel sind kürzer und ohne Gummiband am Saumende, der Stoff ist ganz leichte Baumwolle vom Stoffmarkt. Da ich nicht viel von diesem Stoff hatte, ist nur das Oberteil mit dem gleichen Stoff gefüttert, der Unterrock ist aus schwarzem Futterstoff. Und das Oberteil hat mich ganz schön viel Nerven gekostet. Denn anfangs habe ich eines der Vorderteile quer zum Stoffmuster ausgeschnitten. Ärger war damit vorprogrammiert. Als alles fertig genäht war, zog ich es an und ... Mist, verd#*&%t...habe dann erst entdeckt, dass das Muster der einen Seite längs verläuft, das andere quer. Bei diesem Muster merkt man leider sofort, dass das Muster in der falschen Richtung liegt. Nerv.
While I didn't take part in the first Me Made Wednesday after the summer break, I'll join all the other bloggers for the second one. The pics were taken in Amsterdam, and as I like these pics a lot, especially the one in front of this old pub, I decided to show you these, and as the weather is playing nice at the moment and sharing a little more sun and summer feeling in September, these pics are ideal for this Wednesday.This is another Burda pattern from the burdastyle magazine Nr. 01/2013, i.e. the january edition with sylvester party dresses, and one of these I altered a little, so it would make a great summer dress.
I shortened the sleeves and didn't add the elastic to the end of the seams. The fabric is a lightweight cotton from the fabric market. I barely had enough of this fabric, so I only made the top part of the dress in the same fabric, the bottom half is lined with black satin lining. I have to admit, the top part of the dress nearly had me in tears. As I didn't have a lot of this fabric and I wasn't concentrating properly, i cut one half of the front pieces horizontally, the other vertically, - disaster waiting to happen.So, naturally I sewed evrything together tried it on and...ARGH F#*+ing b*#&y hell...discovered that the pattern on one of the pieces went across, the other one went well, the other way, lenghtwise. YAY.With this pattern you sadly notice immediately that something is wrong.
Also alles wieder aufgetrennt, aber auch wirklich alles, heißt, Oberteil vom Unterteil, Futterstoff vom Oberstoff, dann noch den letzten Rest wieder rausgekramt und neu zugeschnitten. Ächz. Aber es hat sich gelohnt. Nun ist der ehemalige Oberstoff jetzt das Futter und auch wenn sich der Halsausschitt nach außen wölbt, es ist nicht ganz so offensichtlich mit dem falschen Muster, als wenn es noch außen läge.Was mir am besten an diesem Kleid gefällt, außer dem tollen Stoff, ist, dass sich der Rock so schön aufbläht, kann man sehr gut am unteren Bild erkennen. Einmal ohne Wind, dann mit Wind. Ich schau so doof, weil zig Leute immer wieder an uns vorbeigelaufen sind und versucht haben, nicht der Kamera im Weg zu sein. Ich stehe hier übrigens vor einem beliebten Fotomotiv, dem buddhistischen Temple im Chinatown von Amsterdam. Selbstverständlich ist auch ein fahrrad mit auf dem Bild.
So, I had to unpick everything, really everything, top from bottom, lining from outerpart, gathered the rest of the fabric and cut out a new piece. Groan.But it was worth it. Now the former outer part is the lining (I didn't have enough fabric, to cut an entire new lining), and even if the lining turns outwards at the collar, it's not that obvious, that one goes across and the othe goes lenghtwise.What I like best about this dress, apart from the lovely fabric, is that the skirt flares in the wind, which you can see in the bottom pics, left is without wind, the other with wind blowing.I'm looking a little silly in one of the pics, as several people were trying to go past without getting in the way of the camera. By the way, I am standing i front of a popular motif, the Buddha Temple in Chinatown in Amsterdam. Naturally, there's a bike in the pic.
Mir gefällt das Kleid lieber gestylt mit einem Gürtel, was man eigentlich nicht braucht, da das Kleid mit einem eingenähten Gummiband auf Figur gebracht wird. Ich hab jetzt bereits drei verschiedene Gürtel, die ich zu diesem Kleid anziehen kann, es werden bestimmt noch mehr, mit Accessoires in der gleichen Farbe kann man immer wieder ein neues Outfitt zaubern. In diesem konkreten Falle blau-petrol: Gürtel, DIY-Ohhringe. Beim nächsten Mal vielleicht noch türkise Strumpfhosen und Armreifen??? Ha, Overload.
I like the dress best, if styled with a belt, but of course you don't need one, as the dress is fitted to your shape by elastic sewn around the waist part. I now own three different coloured belts which I can wear with this dress, and I can see more in the future, and with accessories in a similar colour you can whip up lots of new outfits. I this case petrol and blue: belt and DIY-earrings.Next time maybe even turquise tights and bangles??? Ha, Overload.
