Ich habe mal den Versuch gemacht und mir zwei neue Bücher übers Internet bestellt. Sie wurden tatsächlich geliefert. Um so mehr freut es mich, diese dann hier kurz vorzustellen (keine Rezension, kamen heute morgen um 10 Uhr, jetzt ist es 13.00, so schnell lese ich Vietnamesisch nun auch nicht).
Das erste Buch ist gerade neu erschienen: Văn hóa khảo cổ huyện Cần Giờ - TP Hồ Chí Minh von Nguyên Thị Hậu. Nguyen Thi Hau ist eine Archäologin des in Ho Chi Minh City befindlichen Centers of Archaology am Institute of Sustainable Development. Ihr Hauptarbeitsgebiet ist Südvietnam. Das Buch behandelt eine archäologisch besonders bedeutsame Region Vietnams, nämlich den südlich von Ho Chi Minh City gelegenen Distrikt Can Gio (Cần Giờ). Hier wurden im Jahre 1993 die Fundstellen von Giong Ca Vo (Giồng Cá Vồ) und Giong Phet (Giồng Phệt) entdeckt und ergraben. Sie ergaben reiche Funde der eisenzeitlichen Sa Huỳnh-Kultur (oder Đồng Nai, je nach dem...) und auch der Óc Eo-Kultur. Neben diesen beiden Fundstellen sind aber noch weitere 24 Fundstellen präsent und werden von Nguyên Thị Hậu hier behandelt. Besonders angenehm ist, dass es auch einen Farbtafelteil besitzt, was bei vielen archäologischen Publikationen Vietnams bislang aus Kostengründen noch selten ist.

Das zweite ist schon etwas älter, aber dennoch interessant. Phạm Văn Đấu und Phạm Võ Thanh Hà haben es zusammengestellt. Sie sind beide Mitglieder des Volkskomitees dẻ Provinz Vinh Long. Es bietet einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Kulturen des prähistorischen Vietnams: Các nền văn hóa khảo cổ tiêu biểu ở Việt Nam (Typische archäologische Kulturen in Vietnam). Von der Steinzeit (Sơn Vi, Đà Bút) bis zur Eisenzeit (Sa Huỳnh, Đông Sơn und Óc Eo) sind die wichtigsten Kulturen präsentiert (insgesamt 13). Es handelt sich um kleine Forschungsgeschichten und Zusammenfassungen der aktuellen Forschungslage.

I tried to order via internet two new books, and it fantastically worked out. Today they really were delivered, after the man called me yesterday several times, not finding my house. I will present them now shortly (no review, they were delivered at 10am, now it is 1pm, I am not sooo fast in reading Vietnamese).
The first book was just published: "Văn hóa khảo cổ huyện Cần Giờ - TP Hồ Chí Minh" from Nguyên Thị Hậu. Nguyên Thị Hậu is an archaeologist. She works at the Center of Archaeology of the Institute of Sustainable Development in Hồ Chí Minh City. Her main research focuses on Southern Vietnam. The book presents one of the most interesting regions in Vietnam, the south of Ho Chi Minh City lying district of Can Gio (Cần Giờ). In 1993, here were detected the sites of Giong Ca Vo (Giồng Cá Vồ) and Giong Phet (Giồng Phệt) and excavated in the years to follow. They yielded rich finds of the Sa Huynh (or Dong Nai) Culture and also Oc Eo Culture. But not only these two sites were found, 24 other sites are also presented by Nguyên Thị Hậu. Very comfortable is the part with coloured photos, very unusual in Vietnamese archaeological publications due to the costs.

The second is an older one, but not less interesting. Phạm Văn Đấu and Phạm Võ Thanh Hà did edit it. Both are working at the People's Committee of Vinh Long Province. It provides a basic overview of the most important cultures of prehistoric Vietnam: Các nền văn hóa khảo cổ tiêu biểu ở Việt Nam (Typical archaeological cultures of Vietnam). From stone age (Sơn Vi and Đà Bút) to iron age (Sa Huỳnh, Đông Sơn and Óc Eo), the most important cultures are presented. All with a research history and a small state of the art review (altogether 13 cultures).
