Meine Nähgarne stapeln sich langsam in meiner Schublade, also musst ich ein wenig Platz schaffen und habe mir ein Nähgarnhalter gebaut/gebastelt. Ich habe eine Malpappe grün bemalt und dann eine kleine bunte Eule gemalt. Oberhalb der Eule habe ich mir Punkte im Gittersystem aufgezeichnet und mit dem kleinsten Bohrer Löcher gebohrt. Den als Halter habe ich mir lange Nägel besorgt und reinhämmern, was ich wirklich versucht habe, ging wirklich nicht. Dazu fehlt mir wohl die Kraft, hmmm.
Ich habe andere Garnhalter gesehen, die haben Holzstäbchen benutzt, aber das habe ich erst entdeckt, als ich mir schon die Nägel besorgt hatte.
Dann, als ich die Nägel in die Löcher steckte, entdeckte ich, dass die Nägel zu klein oder die Löcher zu groß waren, jedenfalls, hielten die Nägel nicht richtig. So habe ich die Nägel mit zwei Komponentenkleber bestrichen, sie in die Löcher gesteckt und sie von hinten mit Heißkleber gesichtet. Dann habe ich den ganzen Halter auf den Kopf gestellt und es über Nacht trocknen lassen. Die Nägel stecken jetzt fest in den Löchern und nichts wackelt. Darauf habe ich den Halter an meinen Schrank geschraubt und die Garne aufgesteckt. Es sind 42 Halter für 42 Garne, und ich habe immer noch Grane in meiner Schublade, nicht mehr viel, aber doch noch ein paar. Naja, heißt wohl ich kann noch mal ein paar dazu kaufen ;)
My thread spools are cluttering up my drawer, so I had to make a little room and made a little thread rack. I used a painting board and long nails. I painted the board green and then I added a little colourful owl to the bottom. Then I marked the places where I wanted the nails to be with a pencil, gridlike. Afterwards I drilled holes mith my drill machine, because I had bought long nails, which I really did try to hammer into the board, but I obviously lack the strenth to do that. hmmm
I have seen other thread racks that used little wooden sticks, but I had already bought the nails, so well. Anyhow, I put the nails into the holes and realized that the holes were too big or the nails were to small, well they didn't fit. So I dabbled a bit of two components glue on to the end of the nails, put them in the holes and secured them with some hot glue. Then I turned the board on its head and let it dry over night. The nails are now secure and don't wobble. I mounted the board on to my cabinet and put the thread spools on the nails. There 42 holders for 42 threads and I still have some more spools in my drawer, not a lot, but a few. Guess it's time to buy some more ;)
