Pyjamas!!! They seem to be my final frontier.
Pyjamas!!! Eine echte Herausforderung für mich. Nicht, weil sie schwer zu nähen wären, ganz und gar nicht. Nein. Aber ich nähe nun mal lieber Kleider und so, die ich in der Öffentlichkeit trage, zuhause mag ich es lieber sehr leger, also leggings, tshirt und Pulli, das ist meine übliche Loungewear. Und darüberhinaus bin ich sehr tollpatschig, das heißt ich schaffe es innerhalb von Sekunden meine Kleidung zu bekleckern, wenn ich zuhause bin, besonders wenn ich koche. Das bedeutet ich brauche Kleidung für zuhause, die nicht sofort alle Flecken zeigt. Also habe ich mich an Pyjamas rangewagt, die so bunt sind, dass sie keine Flecken offenbart.
I have seen quite a few people making pyjamas lately and I got envious. Why don't I have cute and pretty PJs?
Well, I decided to make some and I'm quite smitten with them. When I saw this jersey at the fabric market, I knew straight away, this would be the perfect fabric for my first pjs. The fabric pattern shows lots of different animals, but especially elephants, I love elephants, so this was a huge selling point, althoughsome most of them are yellow, I don't really like yellow.
I didn't use a specific pj pattern for this, instead I used the coco top by Tilly and the Buttons and for the trousers I just traced some bought pj pants.
In letzter Zeit habe ich so einige Blogger gesehen, die Pyjamas genäht haben und ich wurde sehr neidisch. Warum habe ich nicht so tolle schöne PJs?
Daher entschied ich mich endlich welche zu nähen and ich bin wirklich glücklich. Beim letzten Stoffmarkt habe ich diesen tollen Jersey entdeckt und wusste sofort, der ist perfekt für meine ersten Pyjamas. Das Muster zeigt viele Tiere, aber vor allem Elefanten, und ich liebe Elefanten, auch wenn die meisten gelb sind.
Ich habe jetzt kein bestimmtes Pyjama-Schnittmuster benutzt, für das Oberteil habe ich das Coco Top von Tilly and the Buttons benutzt und für die Hose habe ich einfach eine gekaufte Pyjama-Hose abgepaust.
Unfortunately, the fabric wasn't long enough for me to cut the pants with the pattern running horizontal, like it should, so now it is running upwards. And for some mysterious reason I cut out the bodice back upside down. Yeah, well, it's only for home and I don't get to see it, so no matters.
I also didn't have enough fabric left for the sleeves, so I used up some black jersey, I had in my stash. Let's hear it for stash busting.
Leider war der Stoff nicht lang genug, so dass ich die Tiere nicht horizontal laufen lassen konnte, nun schauen sie eben nach oben. Und aus irgendwelchen mysteriösen Gründen habe ich das Rückteil des Oberteils fals rum ausgeschnitten. Nun ja, es ist schließlich nur für zuhause und ich seh es eh nicht, also was solls. Ich hatte auch nicht genug Stoff für die Ärmel, deshalb habe ich dunklen Jersey aus meinem Stofflager benutzt. Ich habe es also tatsächlich geschafft, etwas Stoff abzubauen. Ich bin so stolz auf mich ;)
I'm really happy with my PJs, they are perfect for cold winter nights, I just need to make some more, and some for summer too, of course.
Ich bin richtig glücklich mit meinen PJs, sie sind perfekt für kalte Winternächte, ich brauch nur mehr davon, und welche für Sommer natürlich auch.
Und jetzt ab damit zum Rums.
When I get home, I usually change straight into leggings, tshirt and sweater - this is my lounge wear and also what I normally wear to bed. I don't hang around in dresses or similar, because I'm clumsy, I'm a total klutz, and I get everything dirty within seconds. So I don't wear any nice things in the house, especially not, when I'm cooking, because, if my hands get dirty, I don't wipe them with a towel or wash, no, I usually just wipe my hands on whatever I'm wearing. Even if I try not to, it still happens. Yeah, well, I'll just have to make more things to wear at home, which don't show up grease marks. So I made my first pjs aka lounge wear, which is so colourful, no marks will show up.
