Gestern ging der 31. Vienna City Marathon in der Wiener Innenstadt über die Bühne! Schon vor Weihnachten hat mich San Lucar gefragt, ob ich mitlaufen möchte. Wäre ich sehr sehr gerne, durch die Schwangerschaft und das damit verbundene Sportverbot ist das jetzt leider nichts geworden. Ich durfte aber die anderen Teilnehmer des San Lucar Teams (Fabian, Wally und Daniel) ein bisschen coachen (obwohl die das in Wahrheit gar nicht nötig hatten, alles Top-Läufer! ;-) ) und gestern im VIP Bereich am Heldenplatz live dabei sein!
Yesterday the 31th Vienna City Marathon took place in Vienna! San Lucarasked me to run before christmas, I would have loved to but couldn’t because of the pregnancy (and the related sport restrictions in my case). But I got the chance to coach the other participants of Team San Lucar (Fabian, Wally and Daniel), although they didn’t really need it if I’m honest, all of them are pretty good runners already! And I could join the event live on Heldenplatz at the VIP zone.
Die Stimmung war einfach phänomenal gut, es wurde auch ein neuer Rekord aufgestellt (2:05:41 für den Marathon, vom Äthiopier Getu Feleke). Im VIP Bereich gab es einen tollen Obststand von San Lucar und allerlei Köstlichkeiten, wir wurden also bestens versorgt und unterhalten. Daniel von San Lucar konnte im Endeffekt leider auch nicht mit laufen, wir waren also nur zum Anfeuern mit dabei. Fabians Zieleinlauf konnte ich sogar beobachten, er ging mit einer sensationellen Zeit von 1:36:36 ins Ziel! Wally hab ich zwar leider nicht gesehen, sie ist den Halbmarathon in 1:50:15 gelaufen – das war ihr erster überhaupt und sie hatte im Vorfeld ein bisschen Probleme mit dem Fuß, unglaublich eigentlich bei so einer tollen Zeit oder?!
It was a great atmosphere at Heldenplatz, there was also a new record (2:05:41 for the marathon, by Getu Feleke from Ethiopia). At the VIP zone there was a great fruit stand by San Lucar and lots of other delicacies. Daniel from San Lucar couldn’t run in the end, so we both were there just to cheer. I could witness Fabians great finish, he ran the half-marathon in 1:36:36, a great time!! I didn’t see Wally, but she ran it in 1:50:15 – that was actually her first half marathon and she had some problems with her foot upfront, you wouldn’t believe that hearing her fantastic time right?!
Ich habs jedenfalls sehr genossen zumindestens als Zuschauer an diesem Event teilzunehmen, vielen Dank an San Lucar nochmal an dieser Stelle!! (Und vielleicht schaffen wirs ja nächstes Jahr mit dem Laufen!)
I really enjoyed being part of this great event, thanks a lot to San Lucar!! (And maybe I’ll run next year, we’ll see!)
