„Sir, sind sie sich sicher, dass sie keine Tauchmaske mit auf die Tour nehmen wollen?“ Fragt mich der Captain des Bootes, welches zur Tour rund um Palawan bereit steht. Entgeistert frage ich ihn, ob er mir dies empfehlen würde. Ein überzeugtes Nicken lässt mich dann doch zur neuen Ausrüstung greifen. Angekommen am Colasa Beach rät mir der Guide, doch einmal rechts das Riff zu erkunden. Folgsam gehe ich auf seinen Vorschlag ein und kann es kaum fassen. Korallen in allen Größen, Fische die mir sonst nur im Zoofachgeschäft begegnen und glasklares Wasser, ziehen mich sofort in ihren Bann. Ich tauche ab, dicht heran. Neugierig beäugt von Clown Fischen. Ich tauche also wieder kurz auf um Luft zu holen. Bleibe mehrere Minuten unter Wasser und vergesse die Zeit und alles um mich herum. Als ich nach einer Weile die aufgeregten Armbewegungen des Guides sehe und zum Boot komme, fragt er mich begeistert, wo ich denn normalerweise Tauche. Verdutzt antworte ich: „Dies ist mein erstes Mal“. Er grinst und antwortet: „Dann solltest du jetzt damit anfangen“.

„Are you sure to join the beach tour without a mask?” Is what the captain asks me before I enter the wooden boat. I´m a bit confused for what, but run straight back to the resort to grab one. As we reach the Colasa Beach the guide gives me the advice to snorkel a bit on the right side of the reef. I don´t know what to expect and put my mask over my face to jump into the azure blue water. After a few meters I can´t believe what I see, corals I have never seen before and fishes, I normally only see in pet shops. Somehow I feel thrilled by anemone clown fish and longfin bannerfish, that hunt each other, while I can´t stop watching them swimming around. I dive for minutes to get a closer view to this fascinating world. I even forget that the estimated time for our stop was already over since 15 minutes, until the guide screams out my name. Back on board of the boat he asks me where I normally dive. I smile and answer him that this is my first, but definitely not the last time I will snorkel here.
