(Deutsche Version unten): After arrival in Singapore on the late afternoon with Lufthansa LH778 from Frankfurt and staying at the “Sheraton Hotel Singapore & Towers” I decided to go to Orchard Road, the biggest shopping and dining area of Singapore – and really crazy.
Orchard Road Singapore and the direct streets in the neighborhood has everything you need, from famous fashion labels, all kind of restaurants (e.g. the Charlie Brown / Peanuts Restaurant) and coffee bars to lowest T-Shirts, fake handy-covers and hair extension studios in Far East Center. The new premium shopping temple is the ION Center with their million lights and illuminations everywhere. It opened in July 2009 and is a must visit-place in Singapore – and contains a lot of huge flagship stores on their building - like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Harry Winston, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier – but also labels like Topshop, H&M and more – so the right place for everyone.

Orchard Street is really crowded, nearly 24 hours a day, but it is very interesting to see how the people change in the evening – during the day you see a lot of tourists and business outfits everywhere, in the evening you see young couples, great styled – girls with super-high-heels and miniskirt, guys in fancy clothes – so the perfect place to get a first impression of Singapore and also the location for Asia’s Next Topmodel – very beautiful girls taking part on the Asian version of America’s Next Topmodel or Germany’s Next Topmodel with Heidi Klum. I saw the first episode of Asia’s Next Topmodel and have to say these girls are very beautiful! (I added the video of Episode 1 to the bottom of this post, if you like to get Singapore impressions and also a look on the show.)
If you ever start thinking about a trip to Singapore, I can deeply recommend a stop in the beginning close to Orchard Road – visit Orchard Road twice, in the evening and the next day and you will find two different faces of the same street… very interesting place! That I do not always take the best Hotel choice by SPG and from time to time also select only “average” will be on my posting tomorrow 
(German Version): Nach meiner Ankunft in Singapur am späten Nachmittag mit dem Lufthansa Flug LH778 von Frankfurt und der Übernachtung im “Sheraton Hotel Singapore & Towers” wollte ich zunächst direkt an die Orchard Road gehen, das größte Shopping und Dining Gebiet direkt in Singapur – und wirklich verrückt.
Orchard Road Singapur und die ganzen Nebenstraßen bieten wirklich alles was man suchen kann, von verschiedensten Fashion-Stores, unterschiedlichsten Restaurants (wie z.B. ein Charlie Brown Restaurant!) und Cafés bis zu Billig-T-Shirts, falschen Handy-Covern und Haarverlängerungen in allen Ausführungen im Far-East-Center. Der neue Premium Shopping Tempel in Singapur heißt allerdings – ION Center mit Millionen Lichtern und Installationen überall am Gebäude. Es wurde im Juli 2009 eröffnet und ein Pflichtbesuch in Singapur – gleichzeitig sind alle großen Labels mit Flagship-Stores vertreten – von Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Harry Winston, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier – aber auch Geschäfte wie z.B. Topshop, H&M und viele weitere – der richtige Platz also für Jedermann.
Orchard Road ist wirklich stark bevölkert und das nahezu 24 Stunden am Tag, und hat mehr als zwei Gesichter, gerade am Abend. Während des Tages seht Ihr viele Touristen und Geschäftsleute, am Abend hingegen viele junge Pärchen, toll gestylt – Girls in superkurzen Miniröcken, extrem High-Heels mit Freunden in Fancy-Kleidung – der perfekte Platz für den ersten Eindruck von Singapur! Gleichzeitig ist die Orchard Road auch die Kulisse bereits gewesen für “Asia’s Next Topmodel” – unglaublich schöne Mädchen nehmen am Gegenstück zu “America’s Next Topmodel” oder “Germany’s Next Topmodel” (mit Heidi Klum) teil und ich muss sagen, diese Mädchen sind wirklich schön (ich habe einmal die erste Episode am Ende des Postings hinzugefügt, ihr findet alle Folgen von Asia’s Next Topmodel direkt bei Youtube durch Asia’s Next Topmodel zur Verfügung gestellt)
Wenn Ihr immer einmal über eine Reise nach Singapur nachdenkt, solltet Ihr euch für den ersten Eindruck ein Hotel in der Nähe der Orchard Road suchen – schaut euch die Orchard Road am Abend und am Tage an und genießt beide Eindrücke – ein sehr interessanter Ort! Das ich nicht immer die beste Hotelwahl treffe und es auch mal “Durchschnitt” gibt, erfahrt Ihr am morgigen Tag…
