Intern. Ein Praktikant zu sein hat natürlich immer Schattenseiten und einen wirklich guten Start hatte ich auch nicht bei meinem "großen" Auslandspraktikum. Ich habe für 5 Wochen bei einem Deutschem Fernsehsender ausgeholfen, der seinen Sitz in New York hat. Als ich im Flugzeug saß wusste ich schon, dass tolle Wochen auf mich zu kommen würden, egal wie das Praktikum wäre, New York würde es zu einem wunderbarem Sommer für mich machen. Ich hatte nicht geahnt, dass mir das kleine Prakitkum doch so viel bringen könnte. Meine Aufgaben gingen von Pressekonferenzen der UN aufnehmen/mitschreiben bis zum ersten eigenen Interview. Ein Praktikum, das mich nicht unterforderte, sondern eher im Gegenteil. Von vorne herein sollte man sich bewusst sein, dass New York eine wahnsinnig teure Stadt ist und ein unbezahltes Praktikum einen teuer zu stehen kommt. Meine 5 Wochen haben durch etliche Pechsträhnen ein kleines Vermögen gekostet. Ich bin unendlich dankbar, dass ich die Zeit in New York verbringen konnte und die Chancen, die mir geboten wurden, habe ich stets versucht beim Schopf zu packen. Auch wenn es sich eigentlich um eine kurze Zeit gehandelt hat, hat mich New York ein wenig verändert. Das Alleinsein und das allein mit Problemen umgehen, hat mich herausgefordert und oft an meine Grenzen gebracht. Dank dieser tollen Stadt hat mich aber nie ein Gefühl von wirklicher Einsamkeit überkommen. Die Straßen der Metropole sind überfüllt und wenn man mal ein "Sweety" hören will, muss man nur in den nächsten Bloomingdales spazieren. Ab einem gewissen Zeitpunkt habe ich mich einfach wohl gefühlt, ohne Koffer, ohne Mama und Papa und so ohne alles. Intern. Being an intern definitly has its bad sides and the start of my "big" internship was pretty rocky. I helped 5 weeks at a German TV Broadcaster who has an office in New York. I was pretty nervous, but while sitting in the plane I already knew, New York will offer me an amazing summer. I must say I never thought that I would get so much out of this internship. My task were taping press conferences, filming and kind of helping producing. I met amazing people and came to see fantastic places. From the beginning it should be known, that its a very expensive thing, to do an internship in New York. I must say I appreciated the time in this wonderful city so much. I had the very best time. Even though I was alone most of the time I never got a depressive mood, because the city gives you more then just concrete and people running around. When I wanted to feel better I just walked into Bloomingdales and let myself be called "Sweety" and "Darling" and all those cute things. At a certain point I just felt great, without luggage, without my parents and without pretty much anything.
