(Deutsche Version unten) After a wonderful day yesterday in Nuremberg at the Le Meridien Hotel I returned early this morning to Munich and went to the local Apple-Store to pick up my new IPAD mini. I sold the Ipad 3 a week days ago and looked for the new any lighter version of the IPAD – the Ipad Mini.
The local Apple Store at Rosenstrasse in Munich was crowded at 11.30am, but still okay – so I just had to wait 15 minutes and decided for a new IPAD Mini with 32GB and Wifi (the UMTS-/LTE version will be launched later in November, but I do not need it as I will connect my Ipad to my Iphone 5)
The weight of the new Ipad Mini is really brilliant – only 308 grams, so perfect for every handbag and I think it will be in my handbag nearly every day. The size of 32GB is perfect, as I will have enough space to save my pictures during a trip for safety reasons also on the IPad and will give me plenty of space for music, apps and videos. The 16GB version will be also fine, depending on your needs, but if you also get a lot of newspapers and magazines online, I think the 32GB version is the better one (also if you want to sell you IPad after a year for the next version on Ebay, etc.)
The display size with 7.9inch is brilliant, you can still keep it comfortable in your hand but you will see a little difference between the regular IPAD with Retina display and the lower display on IPad 2 or IPad Mini. For me, it is only a small disadvantage, but the weight and comfortable size makes it much easier to read your magazines and newspapers online, to use it for Twitter or for a quick reply to emails or enabling comments on my blog.
You will see example pictures of my IPad mini with the red smart-cover (donating also money for every purchase to charities) and examples with a regular magazine (current Instyle issue) and the new IPhone 5 – so you can compare the sizes a little bit.
(German version) Nach einem wunderschönen Tag gestern in Nürnberg und im Le Meridien Hotel Nürnberg, bin ich heute früh zurück nach München gefahren und in den lokalen Apple-Store gegangen um mein neues IPad Mini abzuholen. Ich hatte mein IPad 3 for ein paar Tagen verkauft und suchte eben diese leichtere Version des IPads – das IPad Mini.
Der örtliche Apple Store in München in der Rosenstraße war sehr gut gefüllt gegen 11.30 Uhr, aber noch immer o.k. – so dass ich ca. 15 Minuten warten musste und mich für ein IPad Mini mit 32GB und Wifi (UMTS/LTE Version erst später im November, aber da ich mein Ipad sowieso an mein Iphone 5 anschließe, brauche ich kein LTE)
Das Gewicht des neuen IPAD Minis ist wirklich toll – nur 308 Gramm, perfekt für jede Handtasche und ich glaube auch in Zukunft ein häufiger Begleiter. Die Größe von 32GB ist für mich perfekt, ich habe zusätzlich genügend Platz meine Fotos von den Reisen zu sichern und das IPad gibt mir zusätzlich noch genügend Möglichkeiten für Musik, Apps und Videos. Die 16 GB Version wäre auch o.k. gewesen, abhängig vom Nutzen, aber so kann ich alle Zeitungen und Magazine ebenfalls problemlos speichern. Ich denke die 32GB ist die bessere Lösung (gerade wenn man auch plant das IPad nach einem Jahr wieder bei Ebay zu verkaufen…)
Die Display-Größe mit 7.9inch ist brilliant, man kann es noch immer komfortabel in der Hand halten und man erkennt nur eine geringe Differenz im Display zwischen dem großen IPad 3/4 mit Retina Display und dem einfacheren Display im IPad 2 oder Ipad Mini. Für mich ist es nur ein kleiner Nachteil, aber das Gewicht und die guten Abmessungen machen es einfacher die Magazine unterwegs zu lesen, es für Twitter zu ntuzen, Emails kurz zu beantworten und Kommentare im Blog freizuschalten.
