Derzeit findet im Provinzmuseum Can Tho wieder eine Sonderausstellung statt: „Trang Phuc, Trang sức truyền thống của Phu Nữ các dân tộc ở Miền Nam“ – Traditioneller Schmuck und Kostüme von Frauen ethnischer Minderheiten in Südvietnam.
Unter diesem Motto findet sich eine kleine Ausstellung, die in dem Provinzmuseum vom 26.04. bis 20.08.2011 gezeigt wird. Kostüme und Schmuckstücke, meist des 20. Jahrhunderts, finden sich – leider ein wenig langweilig drapiert: Kostüme von Khmer-Frauen, der chinesischen Minderheit sowie der ethnischen Minderheiten Raglai, H’re und anderer. Schmuck aus Halbedelstein, Silber und Gold. Besonders faszinierend waren die Schmuckstücke der Khmer, vor allem die Ohrpfropfen. Es finden sich einige Kleidungs- und Schmuckstücke der Cham, aus An Giang und Ninh Thuan. Warum ein Rindenkostüm der Cotu gezeigt wurde, ist mir nicht sonderlich klar, da diese ethnische Minderheit in Quang Nam, also fern des Südens, lebt.
Die Ausstellung ist nicht sonderlich groß, übersichtlich und minimalistisch. Einige Schautafeln sind jedoch zweisprachig, leider gilt dies nicht für die Vitrineninschriften. Zu meinem Entzücken fanden sich auch monochrome Glasperlen – aus dem Reich Phu Nam (Fu Nan), in das 5. bis 7. Jahrhundert datierend.
Wer in der oben genannten Zeit in Can Tho ist, sollte sich die Ausstellung anschauen, sie ist durchaus interessant – ohne Höhepunkte allerdings. Das Museum findet sich in Hoa Binh 2. In den anderen Räumen wird ein Abriss der Geschichte gezeigt.

In the moment the Provincial Museum of Can Tho shows a special exhibition with the topic „Trang Phuc, Trang sức truyền thống của Phu Nữ các dân tộc ở Miền Nam“ – Traditional Jewelry and Costumes of Ethnic Women in Southern Vietnam.
In this exhibition, shown from 26th of April to 20th of August 2011, you find exhibits of traditional costumes and jewelry pieces of ethnic women, mostly from the 20th century. Unfortunately, it is a little bit boringly exhibited: Costumes of Khmer, Chinese and ethnic minorities like Raglai, H’re and other people and jewellery made of precious stone, silver and gold. Interesting are the ear buttons of the Khmer minority. You also find costumes of the Cham, either from An Giang Province and Ninh Thuan Province. Why also a costume made of bark by the Cotu people is presented I cannot say – they live far away of Southern Vietnam in Quang Nam Province.
The exhibition is not really big, well-arranged and a little minimalistic. Refreshing is that the texts are presented in both Vietnamese and English – sadly not the texts on the vitrines. I was very happy to find some monochrome glass beads as well, from Phu Nam (Fu Nan) dating to the 5th to 7th century.
If you are in Can Tho in this time, you should visit the museum. The entrance is for free, you find it in Hoa Binh Street 2. The exhibition is small and without apogees. In the other rooms you find the history of Can Tho presented.
