Sihanoukville is famous for its beaches and many local as well as tourists gather here during high season for their holiday. However, it is rainy season now and what we experienced was a rather sad and depressing town. We thought that this place hasn't got much to offer and it would certainly not win a cleanliness competition. We meet many emigrated Irish, English and German "dudes" who seem to have found something they could't get at home. Maybe it's the stress free living, the nice beaches or maybe it's just the good looking girls who meet up every evening at bars like the "Plastic Paddies Irish Pub".What we really appreciated though was a restaurant runned by a Swiss couple in which we could enjoy a proper swiss dish, "Roeschti" even with original "Aromat". What a good treat after being on a diet for weeks on "Kind of noodle Similar Sausage Beef" or "Steamed F".
