Als Meister dekonstruktivistischer Polyrhythmik ist Sango bekannt dafür, seine Low-End Beats mit unterschiedlichsten Stilen von Baile Funk bis Garage, Trap bis Two-Step zu mischen. So lieferte er über die Jahre den musikalischen Unterbau für Künstler wie Little Simz, Blackbear, Denzel Curry oder Bryson Tiller. Bekanntheit erlangte der aus Seattle stammende Produzent darüber hinaus durch Remixe von Aaliyah, Drake, Little Dragon, Nas und The Weeknd.
Da sein Debüt „North“ (2011) und die Funk-EP-Reihe „Da Rocinha“ (2015) bereits einige Jahre zurückliegen, ist es nun an der Zeit für das neue Album „In The Comfort Of“.
Die erste Videosingle zum Album ist das verträumte ‚Sweet Holy Honey‘ zusammen mit dem aus San Antonio stammenden Sänger Xavier Omär (ehemals SPZRKT) – ein nicht ganz typischer Lovesong, wie Sango sagt.
‚Sweet Holy Honey‘ stems from cherishing the existence of women and the gift they bring to the world. When I approached Xavier Omär with this idea, I wanted him to write about how it may feel when you hold back the urge to have sex with a woman that you’re in love with. It’s not a typical love song.”
