Phnom Penh: Stupid Advertising for a Good Cause.

Von Nomade51 @nomade51

The Treez Restaurant is a new startup, on street 19, behind Wat Botum, near Preah Sihanouk Boulevard.

The Cambodia Daily, Oct 12, 2011

It’s supposed to be a up-scale gourmet vegetarian eatery in a cozy setting around a private house. But its communications and advertising style is anything but up-scale. See yourself and make sure!

Tasteless Advertising for what kind of a target group

Over 90 % of worldwide population are not vegetarians. That is no reason to demonise their favorite food style!

Why must the food be ideologized?

Last but not least:

this communication style above is also inconsistent with the following paid public relations message in a daily Phnom Penh newspaper.

(Paid) public relations comes in a different, quite conflictive tone.

P.S. 1

This blogpost is not ab out food or eating out in a restaurant, but about the quality of marketing communications.

P.S. 2

I have not eaten in the Treez restaurant, but will make up for the next few days.
