Mit einem mulmigen Gefühl im Magen steige ich in das kleine Fischerboot. Schwankend geht es heraus auf das offene Meer, vorbei an schroffen Klippen und seltsamen Steinformationen. Als das knattern des Motors langsam aufhört, steige ich in das hüfthohe Wasser und warte schwankend um einen Felsvorsprung herum. Nur zögernd verlasse ich das azurblaue Wasser und betrete den weißen, mit Palmen gesäumten Sandstrand. Mit den Füßen im Wasser erlebe ich so den ersten Sonnenuntergang unter Palmen am Meer und stelle sprachlos fest, dass das Paradies nur eine Stunde entfernt von Manila liegt.
I hop on the wooden fisher boot, only reluctantly, during the sun shines bright over El Nido. We are passing rugged cliffs and bizarre stone formations on our way to the hidden beach. I have no expectations as the harbor gets smaller and we are making our way across the ocean. After 40 minutes the boat gets slower and I´m able to jump into the waist-high water. I pass a rocky ledge and reach a lonesome white beach, hidden by rocks and furnished with palm trees. I´m standing with my feet in the water as the sun goes down and I notice, that the paradise is only one hour away from Manila.
