Heute kann ich Euch meinen ersten Monolith zeigen (aus der brandneuen Kollektion von Visible Image). Es ist ein mdf Aufsteller - perfekt geeignet für Mixed Media. Ich finde sie einfach klasse! Natürlich kann man beidseitig dekorieren!
Grundiert habe ich mit schwarzer Tafelfarbe. Nachdem trocken verwendete ich Fran-Tage Embossing Enamel zum prägen der "Sparkle in the Rain" Silhouette. Damit es schön deckend wurde, hab ich zwei Schichten verwendet. Dazu müsst Ihr sofort nach dem ersten Schmelzvorgang eine weitere Lage Pulver drüberstreuen. Da der erste Abdruck noch nicht abgekühlt ist, bleibt das Pulver hängen. Da der Hintergrund ebenso recht heiß ist, bleibt natürlich dort auch ein bisschen Pulver zurück. Das könnt Ihr mit dem Pinsel abstauben. Allerdings finde ich ein wenig schadet nicht, das mildert den starken Kontrast zur schwarzen Farbe etwas ab.
Die farbliche Gestaltung hab ich mit den Gelatos gemacht. Etwas mehr Textur kam mit Hilfe von Strukturpaste und der Tim Holtz Speckles Schablone hinzu.

I'm sharing my first Monolith today! It's a mdf stand alone Monolith. Perfect for mixed media. I love it. And a bonus is, you can decorate both sides! So you can turn it from time to time! For my front I used black chalkboard paint and covered the whole surface. After this was completely dry I used Fran-tage embossing enamel together with the "Sparkle in the Rain" girl. To get a good coverage I embossed it two times. That means: Immediately after the first layer is melted you add another layer of powder. It will stick to your first impression, because it's is still hot. You have to be quick, but keep in mind to put away you heat gun, to not blow away the powder. Some on the enamel will stick to the background as well. That's because it is so hot. But I really like that. So the contrast is not too hard.
I used Gelatos to add color. They are working great on the chalkboard. I add some texture with the Tim Holtz Speckles stencil and structure paste.
Den Spruch aus dem Stempelset habe ich aufgeteilt. Dazu hab ich einen Teil immer mit Washitape maskiert und dann mit Stempelfarbe eingefärbt. Vergesst nicht das Tape vor dem Stempeln erst zu entfernen. "SPARKLE" wurde mit glitter teal Embossingpulver geprägt.
I split the sentiment by masking one part with Washi tape. Don't forget to remove the tape befor you stamp. The word "SPARKLE" is embossed with some glitter teal powder.
Die Blumen sind alle handgemacht. Dazu verwendete ich Stanzen von Sizzix und Marianne Design. Das blaue Blümchen ist mit der Silhouette Cameo geschnitten. Für etwas mehr Pepp kamen noch die Drahtsprialen und ein paar Steinchen hinzu.
The flowers are all handmade paperflowers. I used dies from Sizzix and Marianne Design. The blue one is cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I add some wire and gems for more interest.
Die Rückseite ist sehr simpel gehalten. Aufgrund der Tafelfarbe kann man nämlich mit Kreide drauf schreiben.
My back is totally simple. It's also covered with chalkboard paint. Of course that means you can write on it with chalk!
