She is on lots of lists of artist to watch out for this year and definately somthing special. Anna Calvi is pretty, has a unique voice and her musical style is different from lots of other stuff we`ve heard in years.
Anna`s music could be used in movies, it`s dramatic, she mixes pop with flamenco, you hear influences from Debussy to Maria Callas and she even did record her version of the Edit Piaf song “Jezebel”. Her album is produced by Rob Ellis, who did work with PJ Harvey before, excellent choice. The singer from London is releasing her album next week and will be touring a lot the next weeks.
