Unvergesslich!
From Chiang Khong in Thailand we crossed the Mekong and arrived at the small riverside town of Huay Xai in Laos. We were looking forward to our next 3-days-adventure which would follow. The "Gibbon Experience" impressed even us jungle aficionados hugely. In a remote area of the Bokeo Province, only accessible via fourwheel-drive and footpaths, several treehouses with water and solar power are settled high up in the treetops. To cover the long distances between the houses (and to enter them) there are ziplines over the canopy where you can zip with highspeed at a hight of up to 150m. Like the local gibbons we enjoyed a breathtaking view over gorges and hills. Peter Pan must feel like this. The most beautiful thing was to watch the mist rise from the trees at sunrise to the surreal sound of the gibbons singing. The last day was our lucky day as we finally saw the gibbons. Unforgettable!
