Kanye West headlined Day 2 of The Meadows Festival in Queens, New York on Sunday night (Oct. 2). Fans who waited all day to watch the rapper's live show were caught off guard when Kanye abruptly ended his set during "Heartless," after a man rushed him on stage relaying some bad news. " I'm sorry, there's a family emergency, I have to stop the show," said Kanye to those in attendance, before quickly getting off stage.
Continue after the jump....The festival's official Twitter account confirmed Kanye's set was over, and fans took to social media soon after to voice their displeasure. Soon after, CNN confirmed the family emergency involved Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian, who was held at gunpoint by five men dressed as police officers in her Paris hotel room and robbed on Sunday night.
According to a a spokesperson for the French Interior Ministry, the armed men threatened the concierge with a weapon, handcuffed him and forced him to open the private apartment where Kim Kardashian was staying. A spokesperson for Kim Kardashian said she was "badly shaken but physically unharmed." Kim was in town for Paris Fashion Week, along with her mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian. Earlier in the day, Kim had been Snapchatting her busy day that included a visit to the Yeezy show room and taking in the Balenciaga fashion show.
When asked how's Kim doing after the incident, Kris Jenner told E! News that "She will be OK." It is still unknown if Kim and Kanye's children, Saint and North West, were present during the robbery.
