Wie bereits angekündigt haben wir uns gleich das neue Album von Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience besorgt. Obwohl wir zu Beginn ein paar Anlaufschwierigkeiten mit Suit & Tie hatten, gefällt uns das Lied mittlerweile sehr gut. Und so geht es auf dem Album auch weiter: That Girl, Dress On und Let the Groove Get in gefallen uns dabei besonders – aber unser absolutes Highlight, das wir wirklich in der Endlosschleife hören könnten, ist Mirrors. In einem Interview erklärt Justin Timberlake auch, dass für ihn Musik etwas Besonderes ist, das er nicht am Laufband produzieren will. Das hat zwar Nachteile, wenn man ganze 7 (!!) Jahre auf sein nächstes Album warten muss, aber bei Liedern wie Mirrors macht sich das bezahlt.
Alles in Allem gefällt uns das Album sehr gut, aber es reicht nicht vollständig an sein letztes Album heran, das vom Stil zwar teilweise sehr unterschiedlich ist (der Grund warum wir bei Suit & Tie ein wenig länger gebraucht haben) aber uns persönlich einfach besser gefällt. Es gibt wenig Alben, auf denen wirklich jedes Lied etwas besonderes ist – aber Futuresex Lovesound ist eines dieser Alben. Sei es SexyBack oder My Love zum Tanzen, oder Losing My Way oder What Goes Around…/…Comes Around zum Nachdenken – einfach genial.
Am Besten einfach beide Alben besorgen und Justin Timberlake in all seiner Vielfalt genießen – Gott sei Dank macht er wieder ein wenig Musik für uns!!
As already announced, we had to buy Justin Timberlake’s new album The 20/20 Experience immediately. Although we had some initial difficulties with Suit & Tie, we really like the song by now. And this is how the album goes on: Especially That Girl, Dress On and Let the Groove Get in are great – but our absolute highlight is Mirrors which we can listen to in continuous loop. Justin Timberlake said in an interview once, that music is something special for him and he doesn’t want to produce it like a treadmill. The disadvantage is that we have to wait 7 (!!) years for another album, but with songs like Mirrors we forgive him everything.
Altogether we really like the album, but we think it isn’t as good as his last album, which is very different in stile (the reason why we needed some time with Suit & Tie) but personally we just like it better. There are few albums, in which every song is something special – but Futuresex Lovesound is one of that kind. No matter if you want something to dance like SexyBack or My Love, or something to think about like Losing My Way or What Goes Around…/…Comes Around – simply genius.
Best is, you just get both albums and enjoy Justin Timberlake with all his richness – Thank God he is doing music again!!
