Introducing StrawbellyCake ~ Interview

Viele Animefans werden den Namen StrawbellyCake bereits kennen. Wenn ihr noch gar nichts von dieser tollen Sängerin gehört habt, lest aufmerksam weiter. Und wenn ihr bereits von ihr gehört habt ist das erst recht ein Grund weiterzulesen. Denn es folgt ein Interview mit tollen Einblicken. ⌒.~
StrawbellyCake ist mindestens eine kleine YouTube Berühmtheit - wenn nicht sogar mehr. Den meisten ist sie durch ihre Coverversionen von Animesongs bekannt. Sie covert aber auch Chartsongs und synchronisiert Animeszenen nach (in der Szene nennt man das "Fandub"). All das und mehr findet ihr auf ihrem YouTube Channel. Nun steht ihr erstes Album in den Startlöchern.

Wie bist du eigentlich dazu gekommen Sailor Moon Songs zu covern? Waren das Fanwünsche oder bist du selbst Sailor Moon Fan?
Ich selbst bin mit Sailor Moon groß geworden und liebe die Serie auch jetzt noch. Alle Sailor Moon Songs, die ich gecovert habe, habe ich selbst ausgewählt.
Wirst du auch weitere Sailor Moon Songs covern?
Es werden auf jeden Fall weitere Cover folgen. Vielleicht auch von Songs, die es bisher nur auf japanisch gibt, aber da ist zur Zeit noch nichts in Planung. ABER es sind weitere Fansynchron-Videos in Planung!

Die Crash Dub Studios arbeiten außerdem gerade an einer offiziellen deutschen Version zu "Sailor Moon – The Movie". Diese findet man dann hoffentlich in wenigen Monaten auf Crashdubs.

Was sind deine persönlichen Faves unter deinen Coversongs?
Mir gefällt "In einem wunderschönen Traum" gut. "Zwinge niemals die Liebe" hat aber auch sehr viel Spaß gemacht! ♡
Du scheinst ja selbst auch großer Animefan zu sein – hast du Lieblingsanimes?
Oh ja! Death Note, Code Geass, Gantz, Berserk, Paprika, Das Mädchen, das durch die Zeit sprang, Ghibli-Filme und Sailor Moon natürlich. :D
Wann kommt dein Album raus? Zuletzt war von August die Rede. Gibt es da Neuigkeiten?
Ja, zum Glück! Das Album "Licht und Schatten" kann man ab dem 05.10.2012 downloaden auf: Amazon, Itunes, Musicload!
Was erwartet uns auf deinem ersten Album?
Gefühlvolle Songs. Mehr darf ich leider erst in wenigen Tagen verraten.
Hast du musikalische Vorbilder?
Ich bewundere Olivia Lufkin für ihre wundervolle Stimme & die Songs. Außerdem mag ich Frou Frou und Erutan unheimlich gern! Alle drei sind sehr talentiert und ich würde mir zu gerne eine Scheibe abschneiden! :D
Ich meine in deinen Liedern einen gewissen Musicalsound rauszuhören. Ist das Zufall oder gewollt?
Da ich als Synchronsprecherin arbeite und so immer in verschiedene Rollen schlüpfe und Emotionen zum Ausdruck bringen muss, werde ich das bei den Songs unbewusst wohl auch so machen. Wahrscheinlich kommt daher der Musicalsound, den du raushörst.
Wie verdienst du deine Brötchen? Hast du auch beruflich mit Musik zu tun?
Natürlich! Ich arbeite ja an dem Album. : ) Ich habe eine abgeschlossene Ausbildung zur Kauffrau für Bürokommunikation und arbeite außerdem als Sprecherin im Bereich Synchron, Videospiele, Hörspiele und Werbung.
Bist du offen für Fankontakt? Wie können Fans dich am besten erreichen?
Ich bin stets bemüht alle Nachrichten, die mich per YouTube, Facebook und Mail erreichen zu beantworten. Finde es schön, dass sich die Leute Zeit nehmen mir zu schreiben und möchte mir dann natürlich im Gegenzug auch Zeit nehmen um zu antworten. Daher kann man mich auf jeden Fall gut erreichen und auch, wenn es manchmal etwas dauert, eine Antwort kommt bestimmt! : )

StrawbellyCake is a wellknown singer and fandubber in the German anime- and mangascene. Her YouTube channel is quite famous. And now she's even going to publish her first album. As you can see I'm a big fan of her work. So I gave it a try and asked her for a little interview.

What made you cover Sailor Moon songs? Are you a fan yourself or were you asked to sing them?
I grew up watching Sailor Moon and I still love the show even now. I chose all the Sailor Moon songs I covered myself.
Are you going to cover more songs from the show?
There will be more cover songs for sure. Maybe even songs that have not been translated and are only known in the Japanese version, although there's nothing planned yet. BUT there are going to be more fandub videos (in German of course). The Crash Dub Studios are currently working on an official German version of "Sailor Moon – The Movie". They can hopefully be found on Crashdubs in a few months.
What are your personal favourite songs among your covers?
I like "In einem wunderschönen Traum". "Zwinge niemals die Liebe" was also a lot of fun! ♡

Absolutely! Death Note, Code Geass, Gantz, Berserk, Paprika, The Girl Who Leaped Through Time, Ghibli movies and of course Sailor Moon. :D
When will your album be released? There were rumours about August. Any news?
There are, luckily! The album called "Licht und Schatten" will be published on the 5th of October and can be downloaded on: Amazon, iTunes, Musicload!
What can we expect from your first album?
Songs with feelings. Can't give away too much by now.
Do you have any idols or rolemodels?
I admire Olivia Lufkin for her wonderful voice and her songs. And I also like Frou Frou and Erutan very very much. All of them are absolutely talented and I would just love to be a little bit like that.
Your songs have a certain musical sound about them. Is it just my impression or did you intend something in this direction?
Since I'm voice acting in different roles, where I have to convey various emotions I might unintentionally do something similar in my songs. This might be the reason that you hear a musical sound in my voice.
What do you do for a living? Is your work related to music?
Of course! After all I'm working on my album. : ) I'm a professional management assistand in office communication and I'm also a voice actor for films, video games, audio dramas and commercials.
Are you open for fanmail? How can fans approach you best?
I keep doing my best to answer all messages that reach me via YouTube, Facebook and email. It's great that people take their time to write me and that's why I try to make up for it and take some time myself to answer them. So you can definately write me and even though you might have to be a bit patient, you can be sure that I'm going to answer you.
