Your lyrics consist of a wild mix which appears to be inspired by
fairy tales, childhood, ghost stories, psychedelic experiences and
relationships. What are your songs about? Where do you get your
inspiration from?
Often I write about whatever happens to be around at the time;
scenery, people, objects, feelings… in the end they all get boggled up
into a daydream. I think I was probably afraid of transparency all of
this time but I’m starting to embrace it now.
Are you a full-time musician? Do you have other passions or art forms
which you follow?
I am a daytime waitress and a single mother… so whenever I’m alone I
delve into collage, drawing and music like there’s no tomorrow.
How does Paris influence your music, how is the atmosphere of Paris
for a musician?
For a while I didn’t go out or meet people and I felt extremely
isolated in the city. During this time I began recording, drawing and
publishing my work online. A few years later I played my first concert
where I met some people, which led to other concerts where I made some
tremendous friends and so on… I can’t really speak in general for
musicians in Paris but the experience of meeting people through music
has been very uplifting for me.
How does your music correspond to your drawings and paintings?
They give more dimensions to each other and they seem to grow and
change together.
Which are your favorite musicians, writers, artists?
Lately I have been listening to Chromatics, Yeti Lane and to a handful
of the projects from Matt Loveridge. Some other unforgettable
creatives are My Jazzy Child, Cendrine Rovini, Mario Kolaric, Milan
Kundera and Miranda July. I have also recently discovered the
beautiful drawings of an artist who goes by the name dans le ciel tout
va bien.
Thank you!
