Diesen Frühling hat ILNP für jeden von den Ultra Chrome Flakies auch eine Holo-Version herausgebracht, die zusätzlich zu den Flakies auch noch holographisches Pigment enthält. Ich habe mir zuerst nur schwer etwas darunter vorstellen können und ich denke, einigen von euch wird es genauso gehen. Darum habe ich mir gedacht, es wäre hilfreich, einen direkten Vergleich zwischen einem Original und einer Holo-Variante zu sehen, und zwar zeige ich ihn euch anhand von ILNP Paradox – sowohl das Original als auch die Holo-Version sind dieses Frühjahr neu herausgekommen :-)
This spring ILNP gives us for each of their Ultra Chrome Flakies a holo version, which contains in addition to the flakies a certain amount of holo pigment as well. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect before I actually held it in my hand. Some of you might have the same problem. So I figured it would be helpful to post a side-by-side comparison between an original and a holo version. We’re gonna take a look at ILNP Paradox – both the original and the holo version are new for this spring :-)
Der Farbwechsel in ILNP Paradox verläuft von türkis und blau über violett zu rosa und fuchsia. Die Holo-Version trägt denselben Namen, aber zusätzlich mit einem (H). Zuerst zeige ich euch beide Lacke alleine in 4 Schichten. Ich trage Paradox auf dem Zeige- und Ringfinger und Paradox (H) auf Mittelfinger und kleinem Finger. Der Farbwechsel ist besser sichtbar bei der Nicht-Holo-Version Paradox, während Paradox (H) durch das holographische Pigment heller erscheint.
ILNP Paradox has a strong color shift that travels through teal, blue, violet, pink, and fuchsia. The holo version has the same name but with an (H) added to it. At first I’m showing you both polishes on their own in 4 coats. I’m wearing Paradox on index and ring and Paradox (H) on middle and pinkie. The color shift is more apparent in the non-holo version Paradox while the holo pigment makes Paradox (H) a little lighter.
Schauen wir uns jetzt die zwei Lacke über einer dunklen Basisfarbe an. Ich habe von beiden jeweils 1 Schicht über OPI Black Cherry Chutney (schwarzrot) aufgetragen. Auf dem Zeige- und Ringfinger seht ihr wieder Paradox und auf Mittelfinger und kleinem Finger Paradox (H). Der Holo-Schimmer in Paradox (H) kommt über dem dunklen Untergrund besonders hübsch zur Geltung und die Flakies darin machen das ganze irgendwie mystisch :-) Ich habe Paradox (H) auch über Chanel Taboo probiert und WOW, war das schön!
Now let’s take a look at the two polishes layered over a dark base. I applied them over OPI Black Cherry Chutney, a blackened red. On index and ring you can see 1 coat of Paradox and on middle and pinkie 1 coat of Paradox (H), both layered over Black Cherry Chutney. The holo pigment in Paradox (H) really comes to life when applied over a dark base and the flakes add a mystic touch :-) I also tried Paradox (H) over Chanel Taboo and it was crazy beautiful!
Was meint ihr dazu? Welche Version gefällt euch besser und glaubt ihr, dass man beide braucht? Ich persönlich finde, dass es ganz darauf ankommt, was man damit machen möchte. Allein in mehreren Schichten getragen gefällt mir Paradox besser, weil ich nicht will, dass der coole Farbwechsel durch irgendetwas abgeschwächt wird. Über einem dunklen Untergrund aufgetragen kommt Paradox (H) allerdings schöner zur Geltung!
What do you think? Which version do you prefer and do you think it’s necessary to own both? Personally, I think it completely depends on what you intend to do with it. If worn alone I prefer Paradox because I don’t want anything to dull the intense color shift, however, if applied over a base I would go for Paradox (H)!
