Aaaaaannnnnnddddd.....we're back. MeMadeMittwoch is back and running, y'all.
Endlich sind die Sommerferien vorbei und wir können wieder in selbstgemachter Kleidung frönen, ich habs arg vermisst. Die Instagram-challenge #sewphotohop hat die Wartezeit etwas versüßt, aber ich freue mich darauf, zu schauen, was alle anderen über die Ferienzeit so alles vernäht haben.
Ich war auch kurz im Urlaub, zweieinhalb Tage in Strasbourg, um genauer zu sagen, und da ergab sich die Gelegenheit mein neuestes Kleid zu tragen, dass ich auch heute wieder auftrage. In Strasbourg, als die Fotos gemacht wurden, war es um einiges wärmer als es heute ist, aber mit Schal und Jacke lässt sich das Kleid auch bei diesen Temperaturen gut tragen.
Finally the summer holidays are over and we can all take part in MeMadeWednesday, it's been a long time, but the waiting is over. The #sewphotohop -challenge helped with the waiting a lot and was real fun, but now we once again we can delve into the closets of all the other sewing addicts and get inspired anew.
I had a short holiday in Strasbourg and wore, among two other dresses, this new dress I am wearing again today. It was a lot warmer in Strasbourg, when thes pics were taken, but with a scarf and a jacket I am able to wear this dress in this colder climate.
Das Schnittmuster ist McCalls 6754 Version D - weiter Rock mit Raglanärmeln. Mich hat an dem Schnittmuster vor allem der weite 3/4 Tellerrock und die Wienernähte angesprochen, dazu noch die Raglanärmel und die Sache war geritzt. Der Stoff ist mal wieder vom Stoffmarkt, ein schwerer Jersey - Romanit - der sich ganz wunderbar leicht vernähen lässt. Der Stoff war nicht gerade billig, deshalb bin ich jetzt doch etwas enttäuscht, dass der Stoff nach dem ersten Tragen durch die Reibung der Tasche seitlich etwas pillt. Kann mir jemand erklären woran das liegt, oder ist das bei Romanit immer so, denn das gleiche Problem hatte ich schon bei zwei anderen Romanitkleidern, nur war der Stoff da billiger, also habe ich es auf die schlechte Qualität geschoben? Natürlich könnte es auch daran liegen, dass der Stoff doch nicht so hochwertig ist, wie ich dachte? Ist der Romanit von der Rote Faden vielleicht besser? Irgendwelche Empfehlungen?
I used McCalls 6754 version D for this dress - wide skirt with raglan sleeves - I adore the 3/4 circle skirt and the princess dreams on this pattern, add in the raglan sleeves and I'm sold. I got the fabric for this dress at the fabric market again, it's a heavy weight knit - romanit - punto di roma, which sews up beautifully. Nevertheless, I am a little disappointed with this fabric, as it started pilling the first time I wore, only around the area where the bag rubbed against the dress, but it's annoying, as the fabric wasn't cheap. Does anybody know why it pills so easily? Is that normal for this kind of fabric, or is it, although it's expensive, not that good quality? Any suggestions?
Nun, ich werde das Kleid dennoch weiterhin tragen, denn die Farbe, ich steh momentan total auf blau-türkis Töne, und das schwingende Rockteil ist einfach zu verführisch, um es nicht zu tragen.
An dem Kleid musste ich beim Zuschnitt gleich zu Beginn etwa 15-20cm an Rocklänge dazu geben, denn ansonsten wäre das Kleid viel zu kurz geworden. Außerdem habe ich versucht, den Ausschnitt etwas kleiner zuzuschneiden, denn im Bild ist der Ausschnitt definitiv viel zu weit. Nun, das hat diesmal noch nicht geklappt, der Ausschnitt muss beim nächsten Mal noch etwas kleiner gemacht werden, dann werde ich vermutlich ein Band an den Ausschnitt nähen, statt ihn einfach umzuklappen. Ich würde gerne auch die Mittelnaht beim zweiten Nähen weglassen, gefällt mir ohne einfach besser.
However, the pilling will not stop me from wearing this dress, the colour, I'm really into blue-turquise colours at the moment, and the swinging skirt just make it to tempting not to wear it every day.
I had to make some changes to the pattern, while cutting out I had to add about 15-20cm to the length of the skirt, otherwise it would have been too short. Then I attempted to make the neckline narrower, which didn't really work out, it is still too wide, will have to remedy that the next time around. Maybe I'll add a band instead of turning the neckline over. I will also leave out the middle seam in the fron t bodice, coz I don't really like that added seam right in the middle.
Die Ärmel haben oben an den Schultern Abnäher, ich vermute um der Schulterrundung gerecht zu werden, doch sie helfen auch dabei den Ausschnitt etwas kleiner zu machen, sehr nützlich.
Damit der Rock sich beim Tragen nicht mehr verzieht, habe ich das Kleid nach dem Zusammennähen erstmal ein paar Tage Wochen Monate (ich bin einfach nicht eher dazu gekommen) hängen lassen und dann einfach mit der Zwillingsnadel gesäumt, wie auch die Ärmel und den Ausschnitt.
The sleeves have both got darts at the top of the shoulders, maybe to adjust the shoulder line? Whatever, it helps with adjusting the neckline's width, very useful.
I let the dress hang for a fewdays weeks months ( I just didn't get around to it before) before hemming it with a twin needle, the same way I hemmed the sleeves and the neckline.
