HSF 2017 #2: Re-make, Re-use, Re-fashion

Die zweite HSF Challenge in diesem Jahr läuft unter dem Thema "Re-make, Re-use, Re-fashion". Ziel ist es, etwas altes bestehendes umzubauen u.ä. und da mir vor kurzem ein Glücksfall in Form eines Konvolutes von Stroh- und Filzhüten in die Hände gefallen ist, bot sich das Umbauen von einem der Strohhüte an. Die Krone wurde also aufgetrennt und abgewickelt, um dann anschließend abgeflacht in Form einer Bergere wieder zusammen genäht zu werden. Danach mit Seidenchiffon dekoriert, Schrägband als Einfassung und zum Abschluß noch zwei helle Straußenfedern eingesteckt - fertig.

Material: an used straw hat, silk chiffon, bias tape 

Pattern: my own

Year: around 1760 and later

Notions: thread of course, feathers

How historically accurate is it?  the used straw hat has not been made by hand and I used polyesther thread for sewing, all seams are done by hand - well, I think, it is okay

Total cost:the silk was a leftover, the hat a real bargain - bought it used for 1€
