HOTEL REVIEW: HOTEL LE LITTRÉ, PARIS.

If you follow along on Instagram (vicko_m) and Snapchat (vicko_m) you’ve probably seen that I spent my weekend in Paris. I’ve been already quite a few times to the city of love and would go back there at every chance I get. This trip was special to me since I went with my girlfriends Laura and Jenny. We know each other for what seems a lifetime; we shared laughs, fights and tears. But we never really made it on a little getaway all together. Finally, when Laura’s 30th birthday came up, we had a reason to not only celebrate her but also to celebrate our friendship. We took the train from Frankfurt to Paris (Gare de l’est) and stayed at Hôtel Le Littré. We had a spacious deluxe room and the hotel is located between Montparnasse and St Germain des Prés – two vivid and fun Parisian neighborhoods. Today, I’m sharing my personal hotel review. Despite the awful weather, we had a great time in Paris!
Auf Instagram (vicko_m) und Snapchat (vicko_m) habt ihr es vielleicht schon gesehen: am Wochenende war ich in Paris. Ich war bereits einige Male in der Stadt der Liebe und würde immer wieder jede Chance nutzen der französischen Metropole einen Besuch abzustatten. Doch dieser Trip war ganz besonders, denn dieses Mal habe ich Paris gemeinsam mit meinen Freundinnen Laura und Jenny erobert. Wir kennen uns bereits solange, dass ich mir ein Leben ohne sie kaum noch vorstellen kann; wir haben zusammen gelacht und gestritten, allerdings haben wir es nie so richtig geschafft einen Girls Trip auf die Beine zu stellen. Jetzt bot sich aber endlich die Gelegenheit, denn Laura wurde 30 und zu dieser Feier gings für uns alle dann nach Paris. Wir haben von Frankfurt aus den ICE nach Paris (Gare de l’est) genommen und haben im Hôtel Le Littré übernachtet. Dort haben wir in einem geräumigem Deluxe Zimmer gewohnt und unser Hotel lag zwischen den beiden lebhaften Vierteln Montparnasse und St Germain des Prés. Heute gibt’s meine persönliche Hotel Review für euch zu lesen. Alles in allem hatten wir einen fabelhaften Ausflug – trotz des Dauerregens in Paris!
What I really liked:
Friendly staff & nice welcome! Everyone in the hotel is super friendly and helpful. A big plus was our welcome-surprise: a variety of fresh Macarons. I love them!! And honestly, is there a better way to start your French getaway? I don’t think so…
Freundliches Personal & nettes Willkommen! Wirklich jeder im Hotel war super freundlich und ein besonderes Highlight waren die süßen Macarons, die es als Willkommensgeschenk für uns gab. Es gibt kaum eine bessere Art als mit diesen französischen Leckereien in den Tag zu starten, oder?
Breakfast! Even though, I’m someone who rather grabs a café au lait and a croissant at one of the many cute coffee shops around the city, three girls sharing one bathroom puts breakfast in a whole different perspective. While I was rather skeptic about having breakfast in the hotel, it turned out to be the best idea. Croissants, eggs, ham or fruit – a little yet perfectly fine selection of food is served.
Frühstück! Normalerweise bin ich jemand der sich lieber unterwegs in einem der vielen süßen Cafés einen Latte und ein Croissant gönnt, jedoch gerät das Frühstück in eine ganz neue Perspektive, wenn drei Mädels auf ein Badezimmer treffen. Zunächst war ich wirklich skeptisch was das Frühstück im Hotel anging, jedoch war es wohl unsere beste Idee! Croissants, Eier, Schinken und Obst – eine kleine aber dennoch ausreichende Auswahl wurde täglich frisch serviert.
Location! Montparnasse and Saint Germain des Prés are amazing places to explore Paris especially if you have never been to the city before. Restaurants, bars and shopping possibilities are all over. The Montparnasse Tower is also only a stone’s throw away! Different metros are in walking distance and even the hop-on-hop-off busses are close by.
Lage! Montparnasse und Saint German des Prés sind zwei wunderbare Stadtteile, besonders wenn man zuvor noch nie in Paris war. Restaurants, Bars und Shopping-Möglichkeiten sind dort überall zu finden. Auch der Montparnasse Tower (ein Aussichtspunkt) ist nur ein Steinwurf vom Hotel entfernt. Verschiedene Metro-Linien und Hop-on-hop-off-Busse sind ebenfalls fußläufig.
Spacious & quiet room! The room was big enough so that all three of us had enough space for our bags and could move around without bumping into each other. I especially liked that the toilet was in a separate room. Even though the hotel is part of a vivid neighborhood, it’s located in a small side street away from the buzz and hectic sounds of a metropolis of such a size.
Geräumiges & leises Zimmer! Unser Zimmer war groß genug, sodass wir und unser Gepäck alle genug Platz hatten und uns bewegen konnten ohne übereinander zu stolpern. Obwohl das Hotel in einer jungen und lebhaften Lage liegt, ist es wirklich ruhig, da es sich abseits des ganzen Großstadttrubels befindet.
Wi-Fi! For obvious reasons, I love Wi-Fi. I can’t stand places that offer Wi-Fi but it turns out that it doesn’t work properly. This was not the case at Hotel Le Littré: throughout the hotel we had a fast working Internet connection at all times. I can tell you, it made us some happy campers!
Wi-Fi! Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass ich Wi-Fi liebe. Viele Hotels versprechen einem Internet und dann funktioniert es nicht richtig und die Verbindung bricht ständig ab. Das ist etwas, was mich wirklich fuchsteufelswild macht. Im Hotel Le Littré hingegen hatten wir im ganzen Hotel zu jeder Zeit eine super Internetverbindung. Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, wie happy wir waren!
What I would change:
Coffee! Of course, coffee was available but to me a creamy cappuccino or a latte macchiato is a must while having breakfast on vacation.
Coffee! Natürlich gab’s Kaffee zum Frühstück, allerdings gehört für mich zum Frühstück im Urlaub ein cremiger Cappuccino oder ein Latte Macchiato dazu. Den hätte ich mir wirklich am Morgen gewünscht, da ich kein großer Fan von Filterkaffee bin.
Sauna! On Saturday, we were ready to hit the sauna. It rained non-stop on our second day so that we were ready to warm ourselves up and relax. The time we decided to hit the sauna, it was already closed. However, it was already after 10pm when we had that glorious idea so I think it’s fine if the sauna is closed by that time of the day.
Sauna! Am Samstag hatten wir richtig Lust die Sauna des Hotels zu testen. Es regnete den ganzen Tag über und wir waren bereit uns etwas aufzuwärmen und zu entspannen. Die Sauna war bereits geschlossen als wir hingehen wollten. Jedoch war es bereits nach 22:00Uhr und um fair zu sein, finde ich das eine legitime Uhrzeit um die Saune zu schließen.
