Letztes Jahr habe ich ja von einem Film berichtet, in dem mann-männliche Beziehungen thematisiert werden. Der Film erzählt von einem Callboy und seiner Umwelt und bietet einen Einblick in diese fremde Welt. Vor allem aus vietnamesischer Sicht. Denn die meisten Ausländer haben ja - zu Recht oftmals - eher den negativen Einblick in diese Welt.
Am 14.10.2011 kommt der Film nun in die vietnamesischen Kinos. Eigentlich schon verwunderlich, wenn man bedenkt, dass Homosexualität in diesem Land zwar nicht verboten, aber auch nicht toleriert wird. Mich wundert es wirklich, dass die Behörden keine Zensur verhängen. Der Film wird zumindest sicher für Aufregung sorgen.
Es zeigt sich aber, dass die rechtliche und soziale Situation Homosexueller in diesem Lande sich langsam bessern. In den Großstädten Ha Noi und Ho Chi Minh ist es auch kaum noch ein Problem, aber außerhalb dieser Städte wie in Da Nang oder auch hier in Can Tho ist es noch ein großes Problem.

In the last year I posted about a movie dealing with men-on-men relationships. The movie tells the story of a callboy and his world and problems. It gives us a glimpse of this strange and bizarre world. Especially a Vietnamese view. For most foreigners the view of callboys is most negative - in the most cases true.
On 14.10.2011 the movie comes into the cinmeas.I am really surprised that this movie can be shown, thinking of the real situation of homosexuals in this country. It is not forbidden but seen as a real social threat. It is astonishing that the movie did not get to the censorship. But I am sure the movie will draw public's attention.
Anyway, it shows some point. The situation of homosexuals in Vietnam is getting better, though this is only true in the cities of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh. In other parts of the country, especially the countryside or cities like Da Nang or Can Tho, men-to-men relationships are still problematic.
