Die aus Brighton stammende IndieRockband The Go! Team releasen heute ihr neues Album „Semicircle“.
Die gleichnamige Single sorgt in bester The Go! Team-Manier für gute Stimmung und macht einmal mehr deutlich, weshalb der Bandname nach Cheerleading klingt.
Stilprägend bei der Entstehung des Albums war für Ian Parton, Kopf und kreatives Mastermind der Truppe, das Bild einer School Marching Band die durchdreht:
I like the swing and the toughness of marching bands, the physicality of feeling a beater walloping a bass drum, but I wanted to reclaim them from patriotic or sporty associations. That was the kick-off for this record.“
