Famous Great Ocean Road stretches over 250km along the southern coast of Australia between Melbourne and Portland. Long sandy beaches but also rough shore and huge cliffs are predominant along the coast. Especially the "12 Apostels" (of which only 6 are left) made a big impression on us. The coastline is boardered by further rock formations like "London Bridge", Thunder Cave", The Granits" etc... Most of the road lies within the Otaway National Park which mostly consist of rain forest. Besides nature there isn't much to observe, the journey is the reward! In Portland, the huge aluminum smelter is located just outside town. It produces over 340'000 tons of aluminum per year. Unfortunately we couldn't get a visitor tour :-(
