Für die Umsetzung des Animes sind die Regisseure Kenji Kamiyama („Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex") und Shiniji Aramaki („Appleseed") zuständig. Jedoch wurde weder bekannt gegeben, wie die Umsetzung sein wird, noch wann der Anime erscheinen wird.
Production I.G hat auch Mamoru Oshii's „Ghost in the Shell" und „Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence" im Jahre 1995 und 2004 produziert beziehungsweise auch 2002 „Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex", also den Anime, die OVAs und auch den Film.
2015 hat das Studio „Ghost In The Shell: The New Movie" produziert und die App „Ghost in the Shell VR Diver" auf den Markt gebracht.
Die Realfilmumsetzung von Ghost in the Shell mit Scarlett Johansson in der Hauptrolle feierte am 30. März in Deutschland Premiere.
