Unser Besuch in Wien ging viel zu schnell vorüber. Am Anfang war das Wetter leider auch etwas bockig, sodass die Kamera lange Zeit in der Tasche blieb. Our time in Vienna passed so quickly. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so great at the beginning so that we didn't use the camera much. Abends war die Stadt toll beleuchtet. Die Architektur wirkte noch einmal ganz anders auf uns. Wien ließ sich zu Fuß sehr gut erschließen. Unser zweites Hotel war allerdings am Prater, sodass wir dann doch das Auto genommen haben um von A nach B zu kommen.
At night the city was beautifully illuminated. The amazing architecture came out much stronger than during the day. We've explored Vienna mostly by foot. But as our second hotel was located at the Prater we took the car to get from A to B.
Nach zwei Tagen wollten wir dann noch die nähere Umgebung erkunden, wir waren am Schloss Belvedere und Schloss Schönbrunn. Letzteres war leider so überlaufen, dass wir spontan beschlossen haben zum Lainzer Tiergarten zu fahren. Das riesige Naturschutzgebiet war eine schöne Abwechslung zum Trubel in der Stadt.
After two days we've started to explore the surrounding area. We visited Castle Belvedere and Castle Schönbrunn. The latter was so crowded that we spontaneously decided to see the Lainzer Zoological Garden. This huge nature reserve was so quiet and peaceful compared to the busy city.
Wir kommen definitiv - hoffentlich ganz bald - wieder nach Wien. Wir haben längst nicht alles gesehen. Außerdem fühlt es sich dort wie ein Stückchen Heimat an. Die Architektur ähnelt der Stadt, aus der ich ursprünglich komme, sehr. Ich hoffe, ihr habt einen schönen, sonnenreichen Feiertag und freut euch auch schon so aufs Wochenende wie ich. Es wird übrigens ein gaaaanz langes Wochenende für uns, denn am Montag fliegen wir in den Kurzurlaub.
We will definately - hopefully really soon - come back to Vienna. We've not seen it all. And this city feels a lot like home. The architecture is really similar to my hometown. I hope you have a beautiful, sunny day off from work and you're looking forward to the weekend as much as I am. It's going to be a loooong weekend for us, cause on Monday we're going on a short vacation.
