Nun hat es auch mich gepackt: Das FIMO Fieber! Lange Zeit war ich mir nicht ganz sicher, was ich von dieser Modelliermasse halten soll – bis vor kurzem verordnete ich es eher im Kindergarten oder in der Grundschule. Für mich war es ein Bastelmaterial, das nicht so recht in mein eigenes DIY Konzept passte.
Als ich nun aber kürzlich beim FIMO Event von STAEDTLER in München eingeladen war und gemeinsam mit vielen anderen DIY Bloggern unter der Anleitung der absoluten FIMO Queen Lisa vom Blog meinfeenstaub.de mich einen Tag lang austoben durfte, habe ich festgestellt, dass FIMO doch ganz schön vielseitig sein kann und gar nicht kindlich & kitschig sein muss. Es kommt schließlich immer darauf an, was man daraus macht, richtig?
Genau deshalb habe ich kürzlich mein erstes FIMO Projekt umgesetzt. Dass dabei etwas für meinen heimischen Jungle entsteht, war ja irgendwie vorauszusehen, oder?
Plant Stands aus FIMO im Terrazzo Design basteln
Das Tolle an FIMO ist, dass man daraus beinahe jede erdenkliche Form gestalten kann. Außerdem ist die Farbauswahl unheimlich groß, sodass wirklich für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei ist. Und die unterschiedlichen Effekte, die man damit erzielen kann…. von Farbverläufen über Marmorieren bis hin zum aktuellen Terrazzo Trend. Und genau letzterer ist bei meinem aktuellen Projekt zum Einsatz gekommen.
Entstanden sind dabei zwei Mini Plantstands im Terrazzo Design mit einem Mix aus FIMO in den Farben rosé, grün und weiß sowie einer Prise Balsa Holz. Denn wer sagt denn, dass man FIMO nicht mit anderen Materialien kombinieren kann?

Knetet zunächst die beiden grünen FIMO Blöcke mit der Hand jeweils zu einer Kugel und rollt euch dann mit Hilfe des Acrylrollers die beiden Kugeln etwa 2-3 mm dünn aus.

Hat euer Muster-Topf eine zylindrische Form, dann reicht es, einen Streifen auszuschneiden, der so hoch ist wie der Topf und so lang ist, dass er sich etwas mehr als einmal um den Topf wickeln lässt.
Besitzt euer Muster Topf die Form eines abgeschnittenen Kegelstumpfs (wie in meinem Fall), dann sieht die Abwicklung der Außenfläche etwas anders aus. Tipp: Ihr könnt euren Topf mit leichtem Druck einmal über die ausgerollte Modelliermasse rollen, sodass sich ein leichter Abdruck ergibt, den ihr dann mit dem Cutter ausschneiden könnt.

Unser Topf darf nun inklusive Modell-Blumentopf für etwa 30 Minuten im vorgeheizten Backofen bei 110°C gehärtet werden. Danach solltet ihr ihn gut auskühlen lassen.
Während der Topf im Backofen ist, könnt ihr den hölzernen Part des Plant Stand vorbereiten. Schneidet euch dafür mit Cuttermesser & Schneidelineal aus dem Balsa Holz ein quadratisches Stück aus. Das Stück sollte groß genug sein, dass der Topf später darauf Platz finden kann.

Sobald der Topf ausgekühlt ist, darf er auf dem Holz-Podest Platz nehmen. Natürlich könntet ihr den Topf noch mit etwas Heißkleber mit dem Holz verbinden, aber das ist optional. Ich habe darauf verzichtet, um den Topf bei Bedarf auch ohne das Podest nutzen zu können.
