Wer hat das nicht: Wie Unkraut wachsende Kinder, denen Shirts regelmäßig am Bauch zu kurz werden *grmpf*. Und Ihr werdet es nicht glaube, dieses Shirt, das ich vor sage und schreibe zwei Jahren (*schluck*- echt schon ZWEI Jahre her???) genäht habe, wird immer noch getragen, vom kleinen Bruder inzwischen, aber auch da blitzt das Bäuchlein inzwischen hervor…

Who doesn´t know the problem with growing children and not growing clothes? You won´t believe it, but this shirt I sewed two years ago is still in use with the youngest one in the family… and it is growing short round the belly…

Aber ganz ehrlich? Mir war das Shirt viel zu schade, um es „weg“ zu sortieren, zumal der Jüngste es auch immer wieder aus der Schublade gezogen hat, um es anzuziehen . Da hatte der Papa dann den glorreichen Einfall, ob die Mama da nicht einfach unten noch ein Bündchen dran machen könnte? Klar kann Mutti…

Wanna hear the truth? I didn´t want to put this shirt away, above all the small one was always pulling it out of the closet to wear it . Dad had the idea to sew some wristband on it to cover the belly. And so I did it.

Zunächst hatte ich noch überlegt, wie ich das am geschicktesten machen könnte, doch dann hab ich kurzerhand das Bündchen an der offenen Kante gelocked und in Höhe der „alten“ Saumnaht nochmal drüber und fest genäht. Und so musste ich nicht mal was auftrennen oder abtrennen! SEHR genial 8)

I didn´t exactly know how to do it first, but then I had an idea to sew the wristband on it without ripping up any seam. I just locked the wristband and sewed it through the hem seam. Perfect 8)

Sitzt, passt, wackelt und hat Luft. Jetzt muss ich mir nur überlegen, was ich mit den Ärmeln mache, denn die werden als nächstes raus wachsen 8)

Fits like a glove, the only thing is to think about a new solution for the sleeves to be the next ones to get short 8)
