Die Oscars 2012 haben sich, nun da die Nominierungen bekannt gegeben worden sind, zu einem Duell zwischen “The Artist” und “Die Entdeckung des Hugo Cabret” entwickelt. In beiden Fällen eine nicht gerade kleine Überraschung.
Ein Sieg von “The Artist” in der Kategorie “Bester Film” wäre gleich in zwei Fällen eine kleine Sensation. Denn zuletzt hatte 1928 ein Stummfilm den Preis für den besten Film abgeräumt und hinzu kommt, dass “The Artist” eine französische Produktion ist. Mich würde es freuen! Ich habe den Film zwar noch nicht gesehen, finde es aber mutig und lobenswert in Zeiten die geprägt sind von Special Effects nicht nur einen, sondern gleich eine Vielzahl von Schritten zurück zum Ursprung des Films zu gehen.
Auf der anderen Seite dominiert mit “Die Entdeckung des Hugo Cabret” ein Film die Nominierungen, der genau das wiederspiegelt, was Hollywood aktuell prägt: fantasievolle Geschichten in außergewöhnlichen Sets und dann auch noch unter Leitung des Altmeisters Martin Scorsese.
“The Artist” wird mit 10, “Hugo” mit 11 Nominierungen ins Rennen gehen. Wer letztendlich die Nase vorn haben, werden wir erst in gut einem Monat erfahren. Dann natürlich auch hier im Filmblog als Live Ticker! Nicht verpassen!
Doch auch Deutschland darf in diesem Jahr wieder auf einen Goldjungen hoffen. Denn “Pina” von Wim Wenders erhielt eine Nominierung in der Kategorie “Bester Dokumentarfilm”, was seine Erfolgschancen enorm gebessert hat. Denn ursprünglich sollte “Pina” als “Bester fremdsprachiger Film” nominiert werden, eine Kategorie die bereits jetzt klare Favoriten aufweist.
