In tropical and night active Cairns we mainly relaxed a bit from our previous Aussie trip. The big public swimming pool in the middle of the city and the lively backpacker party crowd did help us with that. But the main reason for our flight to Cairns was its vicinity to the Great Barrier Reef. We could go on for ages about all the surprising and endlessly diverse life in the sea and the reef, but the pictures say a lot more, so enjoy a few snapshots from under the sea. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology we made a few good shots with a rented underwater camera. But was not that easy to hold still in the water (for fish and us).
