Ich hatte gestern meinen letzen Goldschmied Workshop und da habe ich zwei fast identische Ringe hergestellt, einen für mich und einen für meine Mutter, sozusagen zwei Freundschaftsringe. Dabei habe ich einen alten Kinderarmreifen in zwei Teile zersägt, beide Teile in einen Ring geformt und gelötet. Dann habe ich eine Fassung aus dem übrigen Gold gemacht, das ich noch hatte, auf eine silberne Unterplatte gelötet und die Fassung auf den Ring gelötet. Der Stein ist Bernstein, jedenfalls nehme ich an, dass es Bernstein ist, absolut sicher bin ich nicht, er löst sich jedoch nicht auf, wenn er mit Spiritus in Kontakt kommt, was ein Beweis dafür sein soll, dass ein Stein wirklich Bernstein ist.
Dieser Ring ist ziemlich wagemutig für mich, denn der Stein ragt ziemlich hervor. Ich ziehe eigentlich nicht so gerne Ringe an, da sie mich doch etwas stören. Ich stoße ständig mit den Ringen gegen etwas, bleibe hängen...aber nun, ich habe diesen Ring schließlich selbst gemacht und...mir gefällt er, obwohl er sehr auffällig ist.
Ich werde den Ring auf jedenfall zur Schau stellen/tragen.
Yesterday I had my last goldsmith workshop and I made two nearly identical rings, one for me and one for my mother, kind of friendship rings ;)
I sawed an old children's bracelet into two pieces, formed them into ring form and soldered each of them together. Then I made a fitting for the stone out of the gold I had left over and soldered these onto silver plates and these again onto the rings. The stone I used, is amber, at least I assume it's amber, as it doesn't react to ethyl alcohol, which is supposed to be proof that a stone is really amber and not plastic.
The ring is pretty daring for me, as the stone juts up pretty much. I don't really like wearing rings, because they annoy me sometimes. I regularily hit something with them, get stuck on something with them...but, well, I made this ring myself and...I like it, although it's pretty in your face.
I am definetly gonna flaunt it.
