We leave the Everest Base Camp and Paktu brings us over rocky paths from 5200m down to nearly 1500m. The air is slowly filled with oxygen again, the temperatures are getting more amiable and the greenery starts to get back in the landscape. From Tingri on, the Friendship Highway leads us through the Himalayan planes of Tibet. After about 7 hours we reach the last place before the border crossing to Nepal (Zanghmu). The hillside place is plagued by the pure traffic chaos since the roads are just too narrow to handle all the Nepalese and Chinese trucks. Our driver Paktu bosses the trucks around and brings some order into the situation. The drivers guild felt like a duck in the water. The highway leads us further down and down into the warm humid climate and uncountable water falls purl down next to us as we finally reach the Indian sub continent at the Chinese-Nepalese border.
