Wie ASUS per Pressemeldung mitteilt, wird Android 4.2 Jelly Bean für das Transformer Pad TF300T ab heute in den USA verteilt. Der internationale Rollout soll im Anschluss – über den Monat verteilt – erfolgen.
Das Update wird OTA (over the air) ausgeliefert und macht das TF300T zum ersten Nicht-Nexus-Tablet, das ein Update auf Android 4.2 erhalten wird. Zunächst wird nur das ASUS TF300T mit Android 4.2 Jelly Bean ausgestattet. Weitere Modelle von ASUS, wie zum Beispiel das Transformer Pad Infinity, das MeMO Pad Smart und das MeMO Pad sollen erst im zweiten Quartal, also ab April 2013, die neueste Android-Version erhalten.
Laut Pressemitteilung bringt das Update eine verbesserte Performance, mehr Stabilität und neue Funktionen, wie zum Beispiel Multi-User-Account und Lockscreen Widgets auf das TF300T.
