ASUS hat heute per offizieller Pressemitteilung das neue Transformer AiO System offiziell vorgestellt, welches die Mobilität eines Tablet mit der Leistung eines leistungsstarken Desktop-PC kombiniert. Doch der eigentliche Knaller ist, das dieses System sowohl unter Android als auch unter Windows 8 funktioniert. Die AiO Desktop-PC-Station verfügt dabei über einen Intel Core Desktop-Prozessor der dritten Generation für die Windows 8 Nutzung und beim abnehmbarem 18,4-Zoll-Multi-Touch-Display / Tablet kommt ein NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-Core für eine optimale Android 4.1 User Experience zum Einsatz. Und genau dieses „Tablet“ funktioniert im Remote Desktop Modus eben auch unter Windows 8. Somit bildet das ASUS Transformer AiO ein breites Spektrum anspruchsvoller Windows 8 Produktivität und Entertainment-Anwendungen ab.
Für den Einsatz als Desktop ist das AiO wie bereits erwähnt mit einem Intel Core Desktop-Prozessor und einer NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M Grafikkarte ausgestattet. Zudem hat es umfangreiche Anschlussmöglichkeiten, darunter vier USB 3.0-Ports sowie einen HDMI-Ausgang. Das 18,4-Zoll-IPS-Display / Tablet mit Hintergrundbeleuchtung bietet 1080p HD-Auflösung mit 10-Punkt-Multi-Touch-und IPS-Technologie, 178-Grad weiten Betrachtungswinkel, Dual- Band Wi-Fi und ASUS SonicMaster Audio-Technologie.
Das 18,4 Zoll Tablet kann auf 2 verschiedene Arten genutzt werden: Erstens ermöglicht die drahtlose Remote Desktop Technologie eine vollständige Multi-Touch-Steuerung über Windows 8 im Tablet-Modus für den einfachen Zugriff auf Produktivitäts-und Unterhaltungs-Software. Alternativ kann das 18,4-Zoll Tablet auch als ein eigenständiges Tablet genutzt werden – dank integriertem NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-Core-Prozessor und Android 4.1. Zudem schaltet das ASUS Transformer AiO nahtlos zwischen den Betriebssystemen via Knopfdruck um und bietet zudem bis zu fünf Stunden Akkulaufzeit. Das ASUS Transformer AiO soll Anfang Q2 / 2013 – beginnend in Nordamerika – mit Preisen ab $ 1299 erscheinen.

Windows® 8 and Android tablet combined
When detached from the PC Station, ASUS Transformer AiO’s tablet can be used in two different ways. First, wireless Remote Desktop technology on the PC Station allows complete multi-touch control over Windows® 8 in tablet mode for easy access to the world’s largest collection of productivity and entertainment software.
Alternatively, the 18.4-inch IPS display can also be used as a standalone tablet with Android 4.1, thanks to its built-in NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 quad-core processor. ASUS Transformer AiO switches seamlessly between operating systems at the press of a button and offers up to five hours of battery life*. The display also features a convenient carrying handle and a folding stand for comfortable tabletop use when away from the PC Station.
