Ich habe ein Dirndl genäht. Ich bin selber total geschockt. Es war nicht geplant und in keinster Weise gewollt, doch es sieht tatsächlich aus wie ein Dirndl.Ich gebe dem MeMadeMittwoch-Dirndl-SewAlong und Burda die Schuld dafür, irgendwie müssen sie mein Gehirn infiltriert haben und mich unbewusst in den Dirndl-Nähmodus gesteuert haben. Anders kann ich es mir nicht erklären, dass aus einem harmlosen grünen Stoff mit Blümchen und dem Schnittmuster Simplicity 1803 ein, ja ich sage es noch einmal, Dirndl wurde.

Es fing alles ganz harmlos an. Ich hatte mir Simplicity 1803 zugelegt, da mir der Ausschnitt und die Prinzessnähte am Oberteil so gefielen. Das hier sollte eigentlich ein Probekleid für mein sehr gehegten und heißgeliebten Waschbärenstoff werden, also habe ich einen 3 Euro pro Meter Stoff von Karstadt herangezogen, der mir auch recht gut gefiel. Beim Zuschnitt habe ich den Ausschnitt etwas abgerundet, damit er herzförmig wurde, ansonsten habe ich eigentlich nichts verändert, das Oberteil passte an der Brust wie angegossen, nur an den Seiten und hinten war es etwas zu weit, also habe ich dort Weite weggenommen.
It all started quite harmless. I bought Simplicity 1803, because I liked the neckline and the princess seams. This was supposed to be a muslin for my treasured raccoon fabric, so I used a 3Euros per meter fabric I got at Karstadt, which I also quite liked. I made the neckline a little more rounded, so it would be heart shaped, otherwise, I didn't change much else, except for taking it in at the sides and back.
Was macht dieses Kleid nun zum Dirndl?Erstens: der Stoff. Der Stoff ist hellgrün mit weißen Blüten und ich finde er passt in Verbindung zu diesem Schnitt total ins Dirndl-Fach.Zweitens: Der Ausschnitt. Gut, mein Herzausschnitt ist definitiv nicht so weit ausgeschnitten wie echte Dirndl, aber die Herzform lässt einen doch an ein Dirndl denken.Drittens: Der Rock. Der Rock besteht vorne aus drei Teilen, hinten sinds zwei und ergeben eher eine A-Form, statt einem Rechteck, dem standard Dirndlrock. doch durch die Raffung erhält man wieder diesen typischen Look.Viertens: Die Ärmel. Eigentlich fand ich die Idee der Ärmel richtig toll, als ich nur den Papierschnitt vor Augen hatte. Ich find sie immer noch gut, aber auch hier - Dirndl.Fünftens: Der Gürtel. Okay, nicht wirklich Dirndl-typisch, aber denkt man sich noch eine Schürze dazu, wäre der Gürtel das Schürzenband, das man je nach Beziehungsstatus links oder rechts binden muss. Habe ich erst später gelesen, als stimmt meine Bindung hier nicht ;)
But what exactly makes this dress a dirndl?Firstly: the fabric. The fabric is bright green with with flowers and in combination with the pattern it just screams dirndl.Secondly: the neckline. Okay, my heart shaped neckline is definitely not as low as it would be on a dirndl, but it does remind you of one.Thirdly: the skirt. The skirt is made up of three parts in the frnt and two at the back which result in an A-line shaped skirt and not the well known rectangle, a dirndl usually has. But as it is gathered, it does appear like the typical skirt.Fourth: the sleeves. I like the sleeves a lot, but here again it just makes me think of, you guessed it, a dirndl.Fifth: the belt. Okay, just imagine that the belt is attached to an apron, so it's actually the apron strings, which, as I have now read, are nout bound on the right side to announce my relationship-status ;)
Das Kleid hatte ich stilgerecht am Dienstag während meines Urlaubs in Wien an, fand ich richtig passend, doch ich hätte es an dem Freitag tragen sollen, denn da hatten sich unglaublich viele Frauen auch Dirndl übergeworfen, ich habe sogar einen Herrn in Lederhosen gesehen, warum? Keine Ahnung, aber ungewöhnlich war es dann schon.
Ganz ehrlich, auch wenn es ein Dirndl ist, mir gefällts. Die Farbe, der Ausschnitt, die Ärmel, alles super, das einzige, was ich ändern würde, wäre der Rock, da würde ich lieber den Hawthorn-Rock von Colette verwenden und dann würde ich wahrscheinlich auch den Rückenausschnitt höher ansetzen, mir ist es doch ein wenig zu tief und wär hätte gedacht, dass ich blasses Ding doch tatsächlich Bräunungsstreifen habe, das kann man am Rücken ja richtig gut erkennen, Wahnsinn.
I wore my dress befittingly on a Tuesday during my holiday in Vienna.I should have worn it on the Friday though, because several women were wearing it on that day, I even saw a guy with Lederhosen on. Why? No idea, but unusual.

Honestly, I quite like this dress, even though it's a dirndl. The colour, the neckline, the sleeves, I love it, but I would change the skirt and exchange it for the skirt part of the Hawthorn dress by Colette and I would probably also make the back neckline higher, it is a little low. And who would have thought that I, Little Miss SnowWhite would actually have a tan line, you can see this clearly at the back, weird.
