D Ich möchte euch heute ein Buch vorstellen, dieses Mal ist es nicht wirklich ein Fotografiebuch, aber dennoch passend zum Blog. Es heißt "Access All Areas - a user's guide to the art of urban exploration". Der Titel verrät euch schon: Ja, es ist ein englisches Buch und soweit ich weiß auf Deutsch auch nicht erhältlich. Geschrieben hat es Ninjalicious, auch bekannt als Jeff Chapman. Welcher der Besitzer der Website infiltration.org war und als Urban Explorer bekannt wurde.

D InhaltAuf diesem Blog verwende ich den Begriff Urban Exploration meist für so genannte Lost Places, er umfasst aber noch einiges mehr. Auf Deutsch übersetzt heißt es schließlich nur "Stadt Erkundung".
Das Buch gibt sinnvolle Tipps gegliedert in verschiedene Oberthemen: Training, Recruiting, Sneaking, Social Engineering, Equipping und Preparing. Diese Themen umfassen vor allem die Vorbereitung und Wissen, das man sich vor einem Urbex Trip aneignen sollte. Also zum Beispiel die Fragen "Wie finde ich überhaupt diese Orte?" oder "Was sollte ich alles auf so einem Trip dabei haben?".
Danach werden verschiedene Bereiche der Urban Exploration, ebenfalls in Oberthemen gegliedert, aufgegriffen: Abandoned Sites, Active Sites, Construction Sites, Drains, Transit Tunnels, Utility Tunnels, Other Fun Stuff.

The book is divided in some head topics: Training, Recruiting, Sneaking, Social Engineering, Equipping and Preparing. All those topics cover preparation and knowledge you need for an urbex trip. Involving questions like "How do I find these places?" or "What should I bring to such a trip?".
After that it describes the different areas of urban exploration: abandoned sites, active sites, construction sites, drains, transit tunnels, utility tunnels and "other fun stuff".
D Fazit Es gibt in dem Buch hilfreiche und weniger hilfreiche Tipps. Das Kapitel "Training" hätte ich mir zum Beispiel sparen können, da es dort viel um klettern und solche Dinge geht, ich aber eigentlich den Grundsatz habe nicht in einen Lost Place "einzubrechen", wenn kein Loch im Zaun oder irgendwo eine offene Tür ist, lasse ich es auch sein. Vielleicht würde ich auch mal einen kleinen Zaun überklettern, aber trainieren muss ich dafür sicher nicht. Andere Kapitel fand ich sehr sinnvoll, zum Beispiel das Kapitel in dem erklärt wird, wie man die Lost Places am besten findet. Auch Sicherheitsvorkehrungen oder "Was tun, wenn man erwischt wird" fand ich sehr sinnvoll.
Einige Kapitel die nicht von Lost Places handelten habe ich allerdings am Ende weggelassen, einfach aus Desinteresse, vielleicht lese ich sie irgendwann ja doch noch.
Dennoch kann ich das Buch Urban Exploration Fans mit einem guten Englisch nur empfehlen! Es ist gut leserlich, mir gefällt der Schreibstil des Autoren, da er es nicht so trocken, wie ein Sachbuch eigentlich ist, schreibt.

E ConclusionThere are a lot of useful tips in this book, but some were really useless for me. For example I should have skipped the chapter Training, because it's about climbing and such stuff. I have the rule not to burgle lost places, if there isn't a hole in the fence or an open door, I won't enter. Maybe I would climb a little fence, but I don't have to train for that.
Other chapters were very useful for me, e.g. the chapter about ways to find lost places or safety arrangements or "what should I do, if I get caught?". I skipped some chapters at the end about other urbex than lost places, just because I don't care about them.
Even after those things I didn't like, I can really recommend this book to all urban exploration fans. It's nice to read, because it isn't as boring as a normal specialized book.
