Diesmal freue ich mich, das Pamela Palmer - Autorin der "Krieger des Lichts" Reihe sich die Zeit genommen hat, meine 11 Fragen zu beantworten. und ich muss gestehen, ich finde, es ist eines der tollsten Interviews bisher. Pamela Palmer hat mir richtig tolle Antworten gegeben und ich finde sie unglaublich sympathisch :)Die Autorin wuchs in einem Air Force - Haushalt auf. Ihr Vater war Pilot. Als Kind träumte sie davon, Astronautin zu werden. Sie studierte Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen in Alabama und arbeitete für eine Computerfirma bevor sie beschloss, Schriftstellerin zu werden. Heute ist sie Bestseller-Autorin, Ehefrau und Mutter von zwei Kindern und lebt in Washington D.C.Bereits mit ihrem ersten Roman schaffte sie es ins Finale des "Golden Heart Award" der "Romance Writers of America".

- What gave you the idea of writing your "Feral Warriors - sequel?- Woher kam die Idee zur "Krieger des Lichts-Reihe"?
By ‘the sequel’, I assume you’re referring to Tighe’s book? The idea came to me while writing the first book, (Krieger des Lichts 01, Ungezähmtes Verlangen). Tighe was such a fun character, such a charmer, and very sweet. But romances are so much more fun (I think!) when there is conflict between the characters and it occurred to me that he was going to fall in love with a woman he didn’t want to love—a human. Which meant he would have to be forced into close contact with a human woman. A human worthy of a fierce, tiger shape-shifter. FBI agent Delaney Randall was born.

- Which ambience do you prefer when writing?- In welcher Umgebung schreiben Sie am liebsten?
I can’t write with a wall in front of me, I need some distance, so I typically sit with my back to the wall and look out across the room, or look out a window. Since I write on a laptop, I can easily move whenever I feel like it. I also love to write to music, instrumentals such as the music of Keiko Matsui, Jesse Cook, or one of the movie soundtracks. I particularly enjoy the scores to the Twilight series, and the soundtracks of Inception, the Last Samurai, and Avatar.

My writing day depends very much on which phase of the book I’m in. While I’m plotting, I typically only work a few hours a day on the book, digging up ideas, then letting the dust settle while I work on website updates, blogs, etc. Once I start writing, I generally start about 10:00 in the morning (after I exercise and eat breakfast), then work until early evening. Afterward, I enjoy watching a television show or two and reading.

- What did you feel when you held the first copy of your book in your hands?- Was war es für ein Gefühl, das erste Exemplar des eigenen Buches in den Händen zu halten?
Holding that first book was an amazing feeling, truly a dream come true. I received a small box of books from my publisher a couple of weeks before it was in bookstores, so that was the first. But several days before it was to have arrived in the bookstores, my husband and I were shopping and he said, “Let’s see if you’re book is out yet.” I assured him it wouldn’t be, but I went along with him and, amazingly, it was already there. I almost got tears in my eyes seeing my book on the shelves.

Ah, that’s a tough one, too. Being a writer, a perfect day is one in which the ideas sprout wings and fly, and the words flow, the story seeming to write itself. They don’t happen often, but I’ve had a few like that.

I adore music and it can absolutely move me to tears. The music I like best is considered Alternative rock or jazz, usually. That’s the music I search for when it’s time to write, the music I mentioned above, songs that dig deep into my emotions.

I long, long time. I first decided I wanted to write in 1995 when one of my daydreams became too big to keep in my head and I felt compelled to try to write it down. Being an engineer, I had no idea how to write a story, so I spent a number of years learning my craft and writing by trial and error. I finally sold a book (not the first I’d written) in 2006 to Harlequin for their brand new Nocturne line. In 2007, Harlequin bought three more from me and two other publishers offered me contracts for books—two Scottish historical time travels to one and the first three in the Feral Warriors series to the other. A year and a half after I’d sold my first book, I’d sold nine. My tenth book comes out this month, the sixth in the Feral Warriors series, and I have three more scheduled for release between then and next June, with three more under contract after that.

Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I adore that series. TOLKIEN’S ‘HERR DER RINGE’- TRILOGIE. ICH LIEBE DIESE SERIE.
