Japanese Kid's clothes {guest post}

Erstellt am 4. Juli 2011 von Paulpaula
A lovely guest post from Erica who writes the very sweet and interesting blog Expatria baby.

I set out to write a post about Japanese kids' clothes thinking that trendy, boutiquey, Japanese children's designers would be easy to find. I mean this is the home of some fashion heavy weights, like Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, and Junya Watanabe. It turns out that Japanese kids' designers are easy to find, just not in Japan. So, I decided to embrace the Japanese kids' aesthetic right off the playground and present colourful, joyful children's clothes that are perfect for playing in.
Japanese Kids' Clothes
Colourful graphic tees are everywhere and oh so fun! (1, 2, & 3)
Rompers have rounded lines, kimono closures, and are often made of terry cloth. (4)
Newborns dress in short kimonos, which are THE BEST THING EVER for middle of the night diaper changes. (5)
You've gotta have a good sunhat to look cool on the playgorund. (6)
Sundress for girls are almost always worn over a tee-shirt. No shoulders visible. (7)
jinbei suits are for lounging. They are made of seersucker and are light and comfortable and perfect for humid Japanese summers. (8)
Ninja Pants are plentiful and cute. (9 & 10)
Traditional Japanese sandals come in kids' sizes, though young babies and toddlers hardly ever wear shoes or socks. (11)
All school kids have the exact same backpack, red for girls, blue for boys. They're pricy, but they last. (12)
Fun, kid-sized chopsticks entice picky eaters. (13)

Thank you very much Erica!Japanese Kid's clothes {guest post}
