Hamburg Marathon 2015 als Mizuno Runbird in einer anderen Position als 2014.

2014 hatte ich meinen ersten Marathon in Hamburg noch läuferisch genossen. In diesem Jahr ließ es die Knieverletzung und die anhaltenden Probleme leider nicht zu.
Und so reiste ich am letzten Freitag ein wenig schwermütig als „flügellahmer Mizuno Runbird“ an die Elbe. Zwar hatte Mizuno wieder ein äußerst attraktives Programm und eine exzellente Betreuung, Verpflegung und Unterkunft organisiert, aber als Läufer fehlt einem doch das eigentlich Highlight!
Der Marathon!

Irgendwie ein komisches Gefühl auf eine Laufveranstaltung zu fahren und nicht laufen zu können. Wer die Leidenschaft fürs Laufen einmal entwickelt hat weiß wovon ich rede.

Der Freitag war mit Anreise per Zug und die Einrichtung im Hotel bis zum Nachmittag schon verplant. Ein kurzer Besuch im Park Planten un Blomen und auf der Marathonmesse waren aber noch drin.

Die Teilnehmer von Mizuno trafen nach und nach ein und die Begrüßung „Altbekannter“ war herzlich. Spätestens beim abendlichen ComeTogether mit leckerem Buffet und angenehmen Gesprächen war jeder auch innerlich angekommen in Hamburg.

Der einzige Vorteil den man hat wenn man nicht laufen kann ist die Tatsache, dass man in Bezug auf Essen und Trinken ein wenig sorgloser sein kann. Und wer mich kennt weiß das ich diese Disziplin einigermaßen gut beherrsche!
Und so wurde es ein rundum angenehmer und entspannter Abend.

Samstag der 24.04.2015
Samstag beim Hamburg Marathon mit Mizuno bedeutet ein gemeinsamer, ausgedehnter und lockerer Morgenlauf durch den Park mit ein paar traumhaften Aussichten auf die Stadt. Hier stellte sich nach wenigen Metern heraus dass meine Entscheidung nicht beim Hamburg Marathon 2015 zu starten als einzig richtige Entscheidung heraus. Mein Knie fing wieder an zu schmerzen und letztendlich hörte dies auch das ganze Wochenende nicht mehr auf. Frustrierend und gerade wenn man mit vielen Läufern zusammen ist, schwer zu akzeptieren.
Als Ablenkung gab es nach einem ausgiebigen Frühstück eine kurze und unterhaltsame Präsentation vom Racedirektor des Hamburg Marathons Frank Thaleiser über die logistischen und sonstigen Hintergründe bei der Abwicklung eines Großevents wie den Hamburg Marathon 2015.

Zum Abschluss gab es noch die Vorstellung zweier Top-Athleten, Yoku Watanabe und Jackson Limo, und die Möglichkeit ein paar persönliche Fragen an die beiden zu stellen.

Nach der Präsentation gab es bei einem Mittagessen im Foyer ausgiebigst Gelegenheit gemeinsam mit dem Mizuno-Team über Entwicklungen und Trends im Bereich Running zu reden. Zwar ist mein Englisch nicht gerade perfekt, aber irgendwie verständigt man sich doch und erfährt vieles hinter den Kulissen und was die Zukunft so alles Interessantes noch bringt! Da gibt´s demnächst wirklich tolle Neuheiten!

Nachmittag war angedacht wieder segeln zu gehen. Aber auf Grund des echten Hamburger Wetters gab es auch die Möglichkeit zur Stadtrundfahrt.
Segeln kannte ich schon und den Hintern hatte ich mir dabei im letzten Jahr auch ab gefroren, also blieb ich im Bus und lies mir die Stadt zeigen.

Danach holten wir die “Segler” wieder an der Alster ab und begaben uns gemeinsam nochmals zum Mizunostand auf der Marathonmesse zum Abholen der Startunterlagen. Meine waren übrigens auch dabei. Da musste ich dann doch einmal kräftig schlucken!

Die Zeit bis zum gemeinsamen Abendessen war dann sozusagen zur freien Verfügung. Ein bisschen relaxen im Hotel und Vorbereitung auf das tolle Abendessen im Restaurant Seepferdchen!

Auch hier ist es Vorteilhaft wenn man am nächsten Tag KEINEN Marathon laufen muss. Der eine oder andere Wein lässt die verprellte Läuferseele wieder lachen. Irgendetwas muss man sich ja gönnen zu dem vorzüglichen Essen!
Und das es erst nach 11:00Uhr war als wir zurück im Hotel waren hat mich dieses Jahr auch nicht gestört. 😉

Sonntag 25.04.2015 – Raceday!
Sonntagmorgen war dieses Jahr etwas entspannter als im letzten Jahr und das Frühstück definitiv üppiger.
Zusammen mit Heiko machte ich mich auf den Weg um den Start und ein paar Impressionen vom Hamburg Marathon 2015 einzufangen. Auch er hatte intelligenterweise auf Grund von Beschwerden auf eine Teilnahme verzichtet. Also kämpften wir uns dieses Jahr nicht zum Startplatz durch, sonder versuchten einen schönen Platz an der Strecke zu ergattern.

Den Hamburg Marathon als Zuschauer zu erleben, dazu noch mit den Vorzügen eines VIP´s, ist etwas besonderes. Es ist zwar nicht zu vergleichen mit einem Lauf durch Hamburg, aber das Publikum und das ganze Drumherum ist einfach nur toll.
Und zwar Wuscht bei welchem Wetter. Hamburg kennt kein schlechtes Wetter sondern nur gute Laune!

Und wer immer noch nicht genug hat, der kann sich das ganze Wochenende mit den Mizuno Runbirds auch noch als Video rein ziehen. Es ist zwar lange nicht alles Filmmaterial verwurstet, aber einen ersten Eindruck vom Wochenende wollte ich schon mal loswerden. Vielleicht gibt´s ja noch einen zweiten?

Es war ein tolles Wochenenden in Hamburg bei einem der tollsten Marathons. Das ganze Drumherum war einfach nur Klasse.
Nette Menschen und eine Rundumsorglosbetreuung. Wenn ich jetzt noch laufen gewesen wäre, dann gibt´s die Note 1.

Herzlichen Dank an Mizuno, an Alle die mitgewirkt und dazu beigetragen haben und hoffentlich im nächsten Jahr wieder auf Läufer an der Strecke!
